Distance Education and Continuing Education is an extension of Mahatma Gandhi Chitrakoot Gramodaya Vishwavidyalaya situated at Chitrakoot, Madhya Pradesh. Distance learning is the key focus of this institution where students from all disciplines are offered with a chance to learn. The year the center was founded is unknown, however the center has experienced a marked growth as a major stake holder in distance learning. Currently, the institute provides a variety of 29 courses in 12 degree programs to meet almost any student’s field preference. It is mixed sex education making it accept students of both sexes in order to provide a favorable environment for learning. The center is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC), this give an insight to education standards in the country.

The Center for Distance Learning and Continuing Education aims that students taking its distance learning programs are given quality education. About specific facilities, there is no information available but any institute must provide basic requirements for distance learning including resources for online learning, materials required and possibility to interact online. The resources are essential when it comes to the disbursement of online coursework and to make sure that the students are able to meet those challenges that are accorded to them remotely.

The academic programs of the institute are very diverse, which makes it possible to get as broad an education as possible. Students are allowed the freedom to select from among the 29 courses offered depending on their various areas of interest. All courses are offered in distance learning mode enabling student to combine education with other activities. The institute is affiliated at the undergraduate level but it runs several courses such as B.Com, B.Sc in Mathematics, Geology, Biology, Information Technology, BA, BSW, MJMC, M.Lib.I.Sc, M.Sc, MA in several disciplines and M.Com at post graduate level.
