Chatla Venkatesham Memorial College of Pharmacy popularly known as CVMCP, started in 2009 at Karimnagar, Telangana. This college for both boys and girls offers pharmacy course under Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad and recognised by Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). CVMCP is a two and half acre campus college which provides education in pharmacy under three degrees and six courses. At a total enrolment of students on 135 and faculty on 41, the colleges keeps a good strength of students per teacher as per the standard norms.
Chatla Venkatesham Memorial College of Pharmacy has several facilities that would help to describe the capabilities and make the experience of learning for the students better. The college library has many volumes, including all departments of pharmacy, general knowledge, and current news to meet students’ needs for their study. A modern computer laboratory the helps the student master the information technology skills needed in practice of modem pharmacy today. The institution also practices pragmatic education through functional departmental laboratory. For the general growth of students, CVMCP provides playing fields, a gym facility and all seasons’ encouragement to other co-curriculum activities through formation of a Rotaract Club. The college also has hostel accommodation of boys and girls specifically for Karimnagar City students with transport facility daily pick up and drop available.
Concerning the academic programmes the institution offers a total of six courses which are all full-time programmes. These are one undergraduate programme B.Pharma, one doctoral programme Pharm.D, and four postgraduate courses in different area of specialisation M.Pharma. As providing skilled pharmacists the college offer a variety of course to cover all the aspects of pharmaceutical sciences and the market demands.
The admission in CVMCP differs from one programme to another but there are standard requirements. According to the availability of seats the distribution of the B. Pharma is as follows 70% seats under TS EAMCET and remaining 30% are under management norms. Separate M.Pharma programmes are offered and the candidate’s admission is decided based on their TS PGECET score. These entrance examinations are amongst the admission requirement imposed by the college to make sure that the admission is fair and competitive. The acceptance of quality education by CVMCP is also evident by the college Training and Placement Cell that provides students the interface towards seeking campus placements after completing their studies to enable them effectively handle the professional world.
