Chatla Venkatesham Memorial College of Pharmacy (CVMCP), Karimnagar, Telangana, provides a robust and competitive admission procedure for prospective students of pharmacy. CVMCP is affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad, and PCI-approved. The college trains in pharmacy through three degrees and six courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Admission at CVMCP is usually synchronized with the Telangana state university's academic calendar. Undergraduate courses are mainly accepted on the basis of Telangana State Engineering Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (TS EAMCET).
Eligibility varies program-wise. For the B.Pharma program, one must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or Biology as main subjects. For M.Pharma courses, candidates need to be a holder of a B.Pharma degree from an accredited university. There can be special eligibility requirements for various specializations.
CVMCP offers admission based on two primary entrance tests:
1. TS EAMCET: This is a compulsary exam for B.Pharma admissions. The subject areas include Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology. The candidates are suggested to prepare very well in these subjects to get a better rank.
2. TS PGECET: This is a compulsary exam for M.Pharma admissions. This exam checks the candidates' understanding of pharmaceutical sciences at an undergraduate level.
Application Process
The application procedure for CVMCP differs according to the course and admission quota:
For B.Pharma (Government Quota):
1. Attend TS EAMCET exam.
2. Apply for TS EAMCET counseling once the results are declared.
3. Provide documents and pay the counseling fee.
4. Opt for CVMCP and B.Pharma course during the web options entry.
5. Report to CVMCP on being allotted, if any, for document verification and confirmation of admission.
For B.Pharma (Management Quota):
1. Approach CVMCP directly for the application form and procedure.
2. Furnish the filled-in application form along with the documents required.
3. Pay the application fee as required by the college.
4. Wait for the selection process, which could be merit-based selection or an interview.
For M.Pharma courses:
1. Take TS PGECET exam.
2. Get registered for TS PGECET counseling after result announcement.
3. Provide documents and pay counseling fee.
4. Select CVMCP and preferred M.Pharma specialization during web options entry.
5. In case of allotment, report to CVMCP for document verification and admission confirmation.
Degree wise Admission Process
B.Pharma: CVMCP provides a 4-year Bachelor of Pharmacy degree with an approved strength of 100 seats. Admission to B.Pharma is carried out under two quotas:
Applicants have to qualify in TS EAMCET and undergo the Government Quota seat counseling process. For Management Quota, the college can have a different application procedure.
M.Pharma: CVMCP has four M.Pharma specializations with approved intake of 24 seats each:
1. M.Pharma Pharmaceutical Regulatory Affairs
2. M.Pharma Pharmaceutics
3. M.Pharma Pharmacology
4. M.Pharma Industrial Pharmacy
