Located at Ludhiana, Punjab and one of the constituent college of Punjab Agricultural University, College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology was established in the year 1964. COAET Ludhiana was formerly known as College of Agricultural Engineering and was established to impart education and carry out research relating to the agricultural sector. COAET Ludhiana has a State-of-art infrastructure. Different departments of COAET Ludhiana offer courses at undergraduate, postgraduate and at Ph.D level to its students. The college has decent placement statistics, where students get placements in some of the leading organisations in food and agricultural sectors. COAET Ludhiana offers admissions in its UG, PG and Ph.D programmes on the basis of the scores of CUET, MET and PET respectively. All the basic facilities are also offered by COAET Ludhiana.
Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana is a A+ grade ICAR accredited University. The fees for B.Tech programmes is Rs. 4.67 lakhs while for MCA (Lateral Entry), the fees is Rs. 1.21 lakhs. Fees for all the M.Tech programmes at COAET Ludhiana is Rs. 1.36 lakhs.

The college offers B.Tech programme in only one discipline, M.Tech programme in 6 disciplines, an MCA with lateral entry option and Ph.D in 4 disciplines. To take admission in the B.Tech programme of COAET Ludhiana, candidates should appear in the Common Entrance Test (CET). For admission in M.Tech Processing and Food Engineering, M.Tech Soil and Water Engineering, M.Tech Computer Science and Engineering, M.Tech Civil Engineering and M.Tech Farm Machinery and Power Engineering, candidates will need to appear in Master’s Entrance Test (MET) for respective disciplines and to secure a seat in Ph.D Farm Machinery and Power Engineering, Ph.D Energy Science and Technology, Ph.D Soil and Water Engineering and Ph.D Processing and Food Engineering offered by COAET Ludhiana, candidates will need to appear in Ph.D Entrance Test (PET) in respective discipline in which the candidates want to seek admission. There is no entrance test for admission in MCA programmes and M.Tech Remote Sensing and Geographic Information System at COAET, Ludhiana.

The college offers various scholarship opportunities to its students at PH.D, PG and UG level. It offers scholarships and awards on the basis of need and merit at the college level and apart from that, COAET Ludhiana also provides an opportunity to the students to apply for the State and the Central government scholarships as well. Some of the scholarships offered to the students at all the levels are Post Matric scholarship for SC and OBC (for Punjab State Residents) for both UG and PG Students, National Talent Scholarship for PG Students, Professor R.N. Kaul Scholarship for UG students (only for girls), TAFE Sivasailan cash Scholarship, Punjab State Agricultural Marketing Board Scholarship and Post Matric Scholarship for the students belonging to SC Category by Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India among many other scholarships.
The college, on the basis of marks/rank scored by the students in CET/MET/PET for UG, PG and Ph.D programmes respectively, releases its merit list and invites the selected students to appear for the counselling session of COAET, Ludhiana. The cutoffs for all the programmes and their respective disciplines depends upon various factors such as difficulty level of the entrance examination, number of students appear in the entrance test, number of students who apply for admissions in COAET, Ludhiana and the number of seats available in each programme offered by COAET, Ludhiana.

The Training and Placement Cell of the college provides students with an opportunity to get placed from on campus recruitment drives. The Placement Cell invites top reputed companies, primarily from food and agricultural background to recruit its agricultural engineering students. The college organises various industrial visits and training sessions to make its students industry ready. The graduates of COAET Ludhiana are holding responsible positions at the government, academic, PSU’s, manufacturing and agro related industries in India as well as Abroad. COAET Ludhiana Admissions: A total of 3 programmes in 9 disciplines are offered by College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, Punjab Agricultural University Ludhiana at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. Apart from these UG and PG programmes, the college also offers Ph.D programme in 4 disciplines. To secure admission in the undergraduate programme, candidates will need to appear in Common Entrance Test (CET). For admission in the postgraduate programmes of COAET Ludhiana, candidates will need to appear in Master’s Entrance Test (MET) for their respective disciplines, however there is no entrance test to take admission in MCA Programme and M.Tech Remote Sensing and Geographic Information System.
