College of Agriculture is one of the constituent colleges located in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh established in 1950. Located on Race Course Road, this premiere institution has been producing agricultural professionals for over seventy years. 22 courses are taught in the college, with three levels of degrees, total 629 students are taught by 34 faculties. The college offers extensive programs in the agricultural sciences and with a ratio of 62% of under graduates and 38% post graduates and the ration of male and female is 67:33 male : female respectively.
The college has all the facilities scared on campus for the all around development of the students. It has well equipped practical demonstration laboratories, a separate library that holds an elaborate collection of literatures on agriculture and modern Information Technology facilities that enable the students to catch up with the technological revolution in the line of agriculture. The college also provides recreational amenities for games particularly for the sports lovers which consist of ticket and kabaddi, kho-kho, volley ballt, badminton, and table tennis games. It also has an auditorium for use in occasions such as seminars, and gym for fitness, facility for a health center with first aid equipment. Accommodation is made comfortable through the availability of male and female hostels for those students from out stations.
Many courses are being offered by the College of Agriculture Gwalior at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate levels. There are 22 full-time courses offered in the institution, of which they offer 2 undergraduate, 11 Master’s, and 9 Doctorate programs. The core undergraduate programme, B.Sc. Agriculture, has been approved to admit 300 students and for the M.Sc. Vegetable Science programme, there is provision to admit 400 students.
The selection at the College of Agriculture, Gwalior, is very useful in choosing the most qualified students in the area of agriculture. The institution passes a diversity test well; 15% of its student populace hails from outside Madhya Pradesh only. A large population of nonsmoker students is also from other states, which gives a diverse learner population that leads to exchange of information and experience.
