College of Agriculture, Gwalior Admission Process

The College of Agriculture, Gwalior is one of the most prestigious constituent colleges located at Madhya Pradesh. The institution has a tremendous excellence in offering undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral courses in numerous agricultural disciplines. The admission process in the College of Agriculture, Gwalior is set to welcome the most outstanding and enthusiastic learners in the sector of agriculture. 

Eligibility criteria for undergraduate programs typically include completion of 10+2 with science subjects, particularly Biology and Mathematics. Specialized M.Sc. programs in Agronomy, Entomology, Agricultural Economics and FM, Extension Education, Plant Breeding and Genetics, Plant Pathology, Soil Science and Agriculture Chemistry, Fruit Science, Vegetable Science, Plant Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, and Environmental Science have also been offered at the postgraduate level. M.Sc. Vegetable Science has an unusually large approved intake of 400 students.

For doctorate level research, the college offers Ph.D. in areas such as Agronomy, Agricultural Economics and FM, Extension Education, Plant Breeding and Genetics, Plant Pathology, Soil Science and Agriculture Chemistry, Fruit Science, Vegetable Science, and Entomology.

Application Procedure

College of Agriculture, Gwalior has application procedure for a course according to different levels of course as follows:

Application Procedure Undergraduate Programs (B.Sc. Agriculture and B.Sc. Horticulture)

1. Check the Admission Notice on the website of the college or affiliated university.

2. Collect the application form either from the college admission office, or online.

3. Fill up the application form with correct personal and academic details.

4. Attach

  • 10+2 mark sheets, and passing certificate,
  • Character Certificate issued by the last attended institution
  • Migration Certificate, wherever applicable 
  • Caste certificate (if applying under reserved category) 
  • Recent passport-sized photographs

5. Pay the necessary application fee.

6. Complete and submit the application form along with all the necessary documents within the specified time frame.

Postgraduate Programs (M.Sc.)

1. The college website issues a notification regarding the M.Sc. admissions

2. Download the M.Sc. application form from the college website and fill it up

3. Attach all these documents: Bachelor's degree mark sheets and certificate

  • Score card of entrance exam (if applicable)
  • Work experience certificate (if any)
  • Two recommendation letters
  • Statement of purpose

4. Pay the application fee as mentioned.

5. Fill up the application form along with the application documents before the last date.

Doctoral Programs (Ph.D.):

1. Visit the college website for admission notifications to Ph.D. programmes.

2. Collect and fill up the application form for the Ph.D. Programme.

3. Prepare a research proposal in the selected area of study.

4. Collect the following documents:

  • Master's degree mark sheets and certificate
  • NET/JRF score card (if applicable)
  • Research publications (if any)
  • Two academic references

5. Pay the application fee.

6. The application form, research proposal, and all supporting documents should be submitted by the given deadline.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Sc. Agriculture: It is an approved undergraduate programme with 300 students. Admission will probably be through 10+2 scores in science subjects and a probable state level entrance examination. Its duration will be around 4 years.

B.Sc. Horticulture: Another undergraduate program offered by the college, but this time mainly focused on horticultural sciences. The admission process is just like B.Sc. Agriculture, except for the subjects dealt with under biology and agriculture in the 10+2.

M.Sc. Programs: The college offers 11 different M.Sc. programs in various agricultural specializations. Admission to these programs is usually based on the candidate's performance in their bachelor's degree and possibly a postgraduate entrance examination. The M.Sc. Vegetable Science program has a notably large intake of 400 students.

Ph.D. Courses: The college provides 9 Ph.D. courses for a doctorate program. Generally, an admission to this program is after holding a Master's degree with relevant specialization through an entrance examination/test and/or interview conducted either by the college or the corresponding university.
