College of Agriculture, Ummedganj, Kota is an agricultural education college founded in the year of 2018 located at Kota, Rajasthan. It is an affiliated college which promises an array of courses in the field of agriculture, including, undergraduate, postgraduate and even at doctoral level. Currently, the institute has 37 members of the faculty which offers quality education in several disciplines of agriculture. The college is co-educational On this regard, the college admits students of any given gender which makes the college a good place to learn.
College of Agriculture, Ummedganj holds student facilities in high esteem and aims to give its students state of art facilities that will transform their learning. It overcomes this problem as it is a centre of learning and information, where all forms of agricultural literature can be found. Departments are fully endow laboratories to ensure students practice in their areas of specialization is facilitated. The college has fifteen computers and Internet connection, which allow students familiarize with the current advancements in the sphere of agricultural science. For physical development and recreation, the campus which has sports facilities include games and sports such as Kahddi, Volleyball, Basketball, Table Tennis. The college also provides well equipped; technologically enhanced classrooms for both undergraduate and postgraduate classes.
The programmes offered at the College of Agriculture, Ummedganj, Kota are; total of 10 courses comprise full-time undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes. The flagship programme is the B.Sc Agriculture, a 4 year full-time programme for 66 students’ intake. At post graduate level, the college offers the following M. Sc programmes in specific areas of specialisation namely Agronomy; Genetics and Plant Breeding; Plant Pathology, Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry; Horticulture and Agriculture Extension and Communication. All of these M.Sc programmes are 2-year full-time courses with different intake capacity. The college also has Ph.D programmes in Agronomy, Genetics and Plant Breeding and in Plant Pathology with the duration of 6 years only and having meager seats.
The admission process common to College of Agriculture, Ummedganj, Kota depends more on the state level combined entrance tests. Concerning the admission of under graduate students, the college takes into consideration the results of these examinations. For admission to postgraduate courses there is Pre-PG (M.Sc.) examination which is annual common entrance test conducted through one of the State Agriculture Universities of Rajasthan. Likewise in the case of Ph.D admissions the candidates need to write the Pre-PG (Ph.D.) entrance test. The following entrance exams help to select and admit qualified and interested students in the offered agricultural programmes in the college.
