Kuttikkanam, Kerala based College of Applied Science, Peermade was established in 1993 and is affiliated to the university. Located in the beautiful Idukki district, this institution was another fine example of how a college can provide quality education together with eye-pleasing environment. The college being an IHRD college lays more emphasis on offering quality educational programmes in science and technology. Total student enrolment of the college is 321 and hence student faculty ratio is quite less which enables the members of the faculty to build good relationship with the students. It currently has four specialized courses within three degree programs to suit the dynamic technological and business environment.

The College of Applied Science, Peermade has several modern amenities that supplements students learning facilities. College possesses extremely well equipped laboratories so required practical’s could be done in different technical fields especially electronics and computers. The illustrations, which include a large library with access to a variety of books, are oriented toward providing opportunities for research work. The institutional also motive in health aspect, offering the facilities for sports in order the students can maintain the health and balance between the studies and movement. In addition, quality IT facilities have been procured and students are well equipped to handle information communication technology as a result of excellent ICT facilities in the college.

The College of Applied Science, Peermade boasts of academic programs that cut across the current employment opportunities. It has four full time courses with three at undergraduate level and one postgraduate level course. For all the courses offered, the total approved intake is 140 students per year. The under graduate programmes, each of the duration of three years B.Sc Electronics, B.Sc Computer Science, B.Com Computer Applications taken for 40 students in each batch. For students who would wish to advance their studies, the college has two intakes of 20 students for the two-year M.Sc Computer Science program. These courses are relevant and were developed to equip the students with both knowledge and skills on their respective fields of specialisation for professional career.
