CEA, College of Engineering, Adoor was founded in 1995 in Adoor, Kerala – a town enfolded by beauty of nature. This affiliated college which possess AICTE approved is located in a wide spread area of land measuring 12.7 acres of land. CEA has created a market niche for it in engineering education through five specialized B.Tech programmes with 673 strength in total. College faculty consists of 39 members only and so it provides better opportunity for students in the sense of the appropriate number of teachers per students. It must be noted that in today’s world, education is one major point which if focused, can revolutionize any region and indeed, CEA has devoted a considerable of effort in assuring that their reputation as a center for quality engineers is maintained and in this prospect, embraced by the general public, particularly, aspiring engineers.
It boasts of good facilities that provide adequate learning environment accordant to its capacity as a college. Among College of Engineering, Adoor's academic resources, there is a well-endpoint library with more than 10,000 books that focus on various aspects of engineering. The library also displays journals, periodicals and digital items; CD ROMs to update the students on the latest development as per the course they are undertaking. Under this context, innovative and well-equipped laboratories as well as workshops to accommodate core as well as supporting teaching departments are provided by CEA. Currently, the college possesses an internet laboratory that is equipped with high speed broadband internet access which provides students with a direct access to internet based resources. Besides education, the centre also ensures co-curricular development of students with a gym, sports amenities and an open air auditorium for cultural/academic activities. The campus also has a cafeteria and parking space for the use of students and members of staff respectively.
College of Engineering Adoor has seven full time B.Tech programmes each having a duration of four years. These programmes include many branches of engineering, which give engineering students a strong technical preparation. This college was given an overall capacity for admission of 360 seats for all the programmes offered to indicate that the college has the capacity to cultivate a great number of intending engineers every year. although, there is no specific graduation data for the latest year, the over all enrollment of 673 students show a healthy academic vitality of the college.
The procedure of admission in College of Engineering, Adoor is favourably in terms of the Kerala Engineering Architecture & Medical (KEAM) test scores. This is the common entry examination for students at this state level through which they qualify to join CEA and pursue its reputable B.Tech coursework. KEAM scores are used by the college for all its courses allowing for a standardized admission process. The candidates interested to apply for B.Tech courses need to regularly check KEAM website for dates of the examination and admission procedures. FISAT is a much better college for computer engineering than College of Engineering Adoor and that is due to placements. FISAT not only offers good placements but also has better infrastructure and faculty than Adoor. FISAT has amazing teachers who are very qualified and supportive. They also have done Ph.D in their respective subjects and they clear all the doubts of the students. This college also has library,labs and a good ambience for studying. The placements in this college are very good. Almosy 75% students get placed and the minimum salary offered is 3 lakhs and the maximum was 10 lakhs. Many students got internships as well.
