College of Engineering, Kallooppara is a self financing college situated at Pathanamthitta of Kerala state, which was established in the year, 1999. This affiliated college recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education – AICTE, has begun several courses in engineering they are spread over 25 acres of area. At the present, CEK has an overall total student capacity of 403 combined with 18 numbers of faculties makes its learning environment precise.
College of Engineering, Kallooppara has a number of amenities that are intended to improve the student learning environment and foster achievement. We have huge books on Science & Technology, Engineering, Management and other related areas at our central library along with departmental libraries. Electronics, Electrical and Mechanical labs are some of the well equipped learning facilities familiar to engineering students. Being a hostel, CEK provides adequate accommodation, for both male and female students, who prefer to come from out stations.
Sport facilities of volleyball and shuttle are made as a part of the campus to build up the physical fitness of the students along with their academic education. There is a cafeteria which offers both reasonably priced food and beverages, and an auditorium which houses various meetings or seminars. Equipped with efficient technological staff, IT facility of the college enable modem techniques of learning. For the comfort and accessibility of students, CEK offering transport facilities starting with nearby important cities such as Chengannur, Tiruvalla, and Changanacherry.
CEK is involved in 5 courses fully, 4 B.Tech and 1 full time M.Tech. The B.Tech programmes are offered in Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Cyber Security, out of which M.Tech is offered in Cyber Forensics and Information Security.
The admission requirement for joining College of Engineering, Kallooppara is based majorly on Kerala Engineering Architecture & Medical Examination – KEAM for the B.Tech courses. In B.Tech courses, 50 percent of the seats are merit based, which are given by the Commissioner for Entrance Examination, Kerala, from the respective KEAM rank. Another 45% of seats are under this category known as the Management Quota also conducted on the basis of KEAM rank. The main entry mode for CEK's B.Tech programs is the Kerala Engineering Architecture & Medical Examination (KEAM). It's an entry exam that essentially decides on qualification to be eligible for admission into engineering studies at Kerala.
50% of the seats are reserved on merit by the Commissioner for Entrance Examination, Kerala, from the KEAM rank list for admissions to B.Tech. The other 45% of the seats come under the Management Quota, and they also admit on the basis of KEAM ranks. It is a competitive and fair selection process for would-be engineering students.
Eligibility criteria for B.Tech courses in CEK are typically successful completion of 10+2 or equivalent with core subjects as Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The candidates also need to achieve the minimum marks as specified by the Kerala Technological University and pass the KEAM exam.
Application Process
College of Engineering, Kallooppara access is through an application process that involves many steps:
1. KEAM Registration: The students will have to register and take the KEAM test conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Kerala.
2. KEAM Counselling: Once the results of KEAM are announced, shortlisted students will have to undergo the centralized allotment process (CAP) organized by the government of Kerala state.
3. Merit Seat Application: The candidates are not required to apply individually for 50% of merit seats. Seats are automatically allotted from the KEAM rank list by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations.
4. Management Quota Application: The candidates can probably apply directly to the college for 45% of management quota seats. Admission is on the basis of KEAM ranks.
5. Document Submission: The shortlisted candidates for interview/admission are to submit documents as and when required, i.e.,
6. Fee Payment: Shortlisted students are required to pay fees as determined. The fee is predecided by the government for merit seats and is determined by the fee-regulating committee appointed by the government for management quota seats.
7. Confirmation of Admission: Admission is confirmed on payment of fees and document verification.
Degree wise Admission Process
B.Tech: CEK has four B.Tech courses: Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and Cyber Security. KEAM ranks are the most crucial factors for admission to these courses. The college takes a total of 270 seats through these B.Tech courses, out of which the Computer Science and Engineering course takes the maximum of 120 seats.
M.Tech: CEK holds an M.Tech degree in Cyber Forensics and Information Security. The post-graduate course has 18 candidates. Although no descriptive admission details of M.Tech are present, typically they involve shortlisting the candidate based on GATE score and interviewing him/her later.
