The Community Science College and Research Institute affiliated to Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Madurai is a constituent college of the university was established in the year 1980. The Community Science College and Research Institute provides a limited number of the full time programmes as part of the higher education curriculum. The academic programmes which are offered at the institute include : 4-year Bachelor of Science programme (B.Sc) in Food Nutrition and Dietetics (Hons), 2-year Master of Science programme (M.Sc) in Food Science and Nutrition, 6-year Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Food Science and Nutrition. These programmes are enabling students to gain expertise knowledge and skill in their preferred areas of specialisation.
