CSI Teacher Training Institute for Women, Salem is a women’s only standalone institution located at Hasthampatti, Salem, Tamil Nadu established in 1927. This NAECT recognised institution has been preparing teachers of the future for almost ninety years. Stretched in just 4 acres of land, the institute has a small and intensive campus for its students. Contrary to the name of this institute, it is a co-educational institution which means that boys and girls are free to study here. Now, with having total 45 students and 6 faculty members, the institute is successful in providing a good student teacher ratio which facilitates quality education to its students.

This institute boasts of having developed and provided a variety of learning facilities to cater for the needs of students learning within the institute setting. Available are different hostels for boys and girls for the out station students to enable them have a comfortable place to stay. A resourceful library is supposed to be an academic treasure-house to meet the need of scholars, teachers and researchers. In addition the institute has laboratory facilities to provide practical training for students with necessary equipment. A local campus’ auditorium presents events and seminars to keep students and professors engaged. First aid services in the medical facility are essential for the good health of all students as a learning institution. The institute also has lodges for guests and family’s of the students for enhanced comfort of the visiting teaching faculty as well as comforts of the student’s family members.

At present, CSI Teacher Training Institute for Women, Salem provides only one regular course, namely, Diploma in Elementary Education also Known as D.El.Ed. This is a two-year programme, which has an approved intake of 80 seats in order to produce qualified Elementary School Teachers. 

CSI Teacher Training Institute for Women, Salem admission has criteria provided through the marks scored in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination. The admission policy is possible and follows the policy of the state government of Tamil Nadu, for the institute.
