Dibrugarh University’s Department of Petroleum Technology was established in 1969 as a constituent college at Dibrugarh, Assam. For admission to the M.Tech course, the candidates are preferred as follows: The candidates must have attempted the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). This is a national examination that tests the integration of knowledge in a range of subjects in engineering and science by undergraduate students. To qualify for the Ph.D. programme admission, the candidate must pass DURAT (Dibrugarh University Research Admission Test), NET (National Eligibility Test), or JRF (Junior Research Fellowship), in addition to Ph.D. Pre-Registration Coursework.
