These facilities altogether develop favourable conditions to learning and research process in a highly specialised sphere of ship technology.
The department offers two full-time courses: a 4 year B.Tech programme which was being offered in Naval Architecture and Ship Building for 40 eligible students, and M.Tech programme of 2 year duration offering 18 seats in Computer Aided Structural Analysis and Design. These programmes are intended to allow the students learn advanced concepts and techniques in their areas of specialisation. Considering the B.Tech programme, the syllabi provide core knowledge in the naval architectures and ship building, and in the case of M.Tech programme, it covers modern advanced theoretical and practical computational methods in structural analysis of marine engineering vessels.
