Dev Bhoomi Institute of Polytechnic Saharanpur (DBIP), a constituent of the Dev Group of institutions, was founded in the year 2010. Being situated in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, the institute has earned fame in the field of polytechnic education. DBIP is an affiliated college under the All India Council for Technical Education, making it supply competent education as per national standards. The institute registers a total student intake of 384 while the faculty of the institute has 50 teachers, which makes a good student-teacher ratio helpful in conditioning the learning environment. Currently the Dev Bhoomi Institute of Polytechnic offers a total of six full-time diploma courses and they have an equal duration of three years each. These courses focus on major engineering branches: civil engineering, electrical engineering, electronics engineering, computer science and engineering, mechanical engineering (automobile), and production engineering. The intake capacity of the institute is 384 for all the courses offered and the per-course capacity may vary from 30 to 60. To ensure free and merit based admission there is a well structured admission process followed at Dev Bhoomi Institute of Polytechnic. The institute largely relies on the state level entrance examination known as the Uttarakhand Joint Entrance Examination Polytechnics (Uttarakhand JEEP), which is a polytechnic level examination. It is used to qualify students wishing to join the institute so as to offer them a place in the various diploma courses being offered. The talent development culture of the institute is also reflected in the fee charged, whereby all programmes offered are offered at a standard fee of Rs. 100,800 up to the completion of the set programmes.
