District Institute of Education and Training, Balangir: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

The DIET Balangir known as district institute of education and training is in Balangir Odisha, it was developed in 1989 but is a single affirmative institute. This co-educational institute offers teacher education and is recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). DIET Balangir is located in a constrained plot of 5.36 acre; the Institute offer three full time courses in education which has a total student capacity of 194. It has a faculty strength of 14 members responsive to the need for quality education with special focus on student teacher ratio.

DIET Balangir servants number of facilities for its students to improve their academic and co-curricular activities. The institute also possesses a library where students can get many educational materials as well as literature. Hostel accommodations are alsoprovided for students who desire them, with respect of gender to enhance proper comfort. Campus has developed efficient Information Technology laboratory to facilitate students to connect with the outer world and use computers as a learning tool. Besides, much emphasis is given to the practical set up because the institute has well-equipped laboratories. There are two apartments: one for visitors (guest room/waiting room) to meet the hospitality of the institute. However, the former type of facilities enshrine an environment of support for teachers-to-be in their academic endeavors.

DIET Balangir has presented total three full time courses where each course is complete professional course keeping in view the need of different levels of teacher education. The prime program of the institute comprises the Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) that is offered with a total of 50 seats and has been designed to produce effective teachers at the primary and upper primary level.

The criteria for admissions at DIET Balangir are all very very strict and the admission are purely merit-based to get the deserving candidates. In case of D.El.Ed program, Admission will be given and based on the marks secured for the qualifying examination and entrance test as per the guidelines of state government regulation only. The M.Ed program also pattern on the same line basing them on marks obtained in the qualifying examination and entrance test and any other criteria as may be provided by the government or the University.
