Located in the beautiful village of Surjadas this is Government affiliated college spread over an area of 3.306 acres of land. DIET Karimganj is a teacher education institution, categorical and engaged in offering two courses having a sanctioned strength of 300 students. It gets its recognition that making it one of the best institutes for providing teacher training programmes from the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).
DIET Karimganj is equipped with numerous additional facilities since its main aim is to provide the best learning experience to its students. Admission policy at DIET Karimganj is developed and justified in order to identify appropriate candidates for the institute’s teacher education programs. For the B.Ed course, the candidates are given ranks by the university as per their academic score cards and CAT score. The admission procedure to the D.El.Ed programme reservation also extends the same through with respect to the scoring of marks in the qualifying examination and/or an entrance test. The DIET Karimganj offers 50 seats under the B.Ed programme per batch. The admission policy of B.Ed is made through a merit list prepared by the university. The merit list is taken from the candidate's academic records and his or her performance in the CAT conducted by the university to declare the list. Hence the most qualified candidates are brought into the programme.
DIET Karimganj also provides 50 seats per batch for the D.El.Ed course. District Institute of Education and Training admission to this course is merit-based, as determined by the marks secured in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination. The selection may also be done based on other criteria as applicable under the policy of the state government or UT administration.
