Don Bosco College of Engineering and Technology was founded in 2008 at Guwahati in Assam. It is one of the finest institutions. It carved out its niche in the gamut of technical education when it was appended as a constituent college of Assam Don Bosco University. The campus, covering an area on the Airport Road in Azara, makes an ideal ground for academic excellence as well as innovative initiatives. DBCET has the approval of All India Council for Technical Education; hence, its programs hold national standard quality education. The academic environment here is truly cosmopolitan, with 73 highly dedicated faculty members. The institute cares about all-round education for its students, which is reflected in its comprehensive curriculum and state-of-the-art facilities.

The health of the students is also ensured to be fit and healthy with a health center in the college offering first-aid facilities.

DBCET offers multiple full-time courses at various study levels. Under the undergraduate level, the college offers B.Tech in five major disciplines: Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. DBCET has offered an M.Tech course in numerous specializations and an MCA program for those students who prefer higher studies. The working college also has a BCA for students who want to become computer professionals.

Don Bosco College of Engineering and Technology (DBCET), Guwahati, is a highly illustrious institution providing a variety of engineering and technology courses. As a constituent college of Assam Don Bosco University, the college follows a stringent admission system to select the best and the most deserving candidates. DBCET begins its admission cycle for the session commencing in August-September largely in the months of May and June. For the undergraduate programs, DBCET primarily recognizes JEE Main scores for admission consideration. However, admission via state-level entrance tests or through The Don Bosco University Graduate Entrance Test is also possible. The minimum eligibility criterion for B.Tech programs remains to be passing of 10+2 from a recognized board with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry as compulsory subjects. Generally, an aggregate percentage of 50% marks in the qualifying examination is required.

M.Tech and MCA admission tests are university-conducted entrance test-based followed by personal interviews. For admission to the M.Tech programs, GATE scores may also be factored in. In the case of Ph.D. admission, entrance tests and/or interviews by the university form the basis for assessing the research potential of concerned candidates. DBCET offers various courses, including five B.Tech courses-Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering-,MCA, BCA, and various M.Tech specializations. Application Process

An application procedure at Don Bosco College of Engineering and Technology varies from one program to another:

For B.Tech programs:

Qualify JEE Main examination.

  1. Apply through the college website or the common admission portal (if any) used by Assam Don Bosco University.
  2. Fill out the application form with accurate personal and academic details.
  3. Upload required documents, including JEE Main score card, 10th and 12th mark sheets, and other certificates as specified.
  4. Pay the application fee online.

For MCA:

  1. Register for Don Bosco University Post Graduate Entrance Test (DBUPGET).
  2. Attend the DBUPGET on the scheduled date.
  3. If qualified, fill out the MCA application form on the college website.
  4. Upload required documents such as graduation mark sheets and entrance test scores.
  5. Pay application fees.
  6.  If shortlisted, attend the personal interview.

For M.Tech:

  1. For the desired M.Tech specialization, submit online application on college website.

Degree-wise Admission Procedure

B. Tech.The admission to B.Tech programs in DBCET is chiefly unlike to JEE Main scores. Alternatively, the admissions through state-level entrance tests followed by the Don Bosco University Graduate Entrance Test are also offered to the candidates. The college provides five B.Tech programs with the total admission of 210 seats distributed among all branches. Eligibility requires passing of 10+2 in Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry.

MCA: Under the Master of Computer Applications program, admission to DBCET shall be granted on the basis of the Don Bosco University Post Graduate Entrance Test (DBUPGET) followed by a personal interview. The course accommodates an admission capacity of 60 seats.

BCA: Admission to the Bachelor of Computer Applications program is on the basis of personal interviews. The course has an intake of 60 seats.

M.Tech: DBCET runs M.Tech programs for Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and Electronics and Communication Engineering. The passing out of the entrance test by the university and/or a personal interview goes into the admission. The intake is from 12 to 24 seats, depending on the specialization.

Ph.D.: Doctoral programs are available in the engineering disciplines of interest. The admission scheme involves the holding of entrance tests/interviews by the university to assess research aptitude among candidates.
