Don Bosco College of Engineering and Technology was founded in 2008 at Guwahati in Assam. It is one of the finest institutions. Don Bosco College of Engineering and Technology (DBCET), Guwahati, is a highly illustrious institution providing a variety of engineering and technology courses. As a constituent college of Assam Don Bosco University, the college follows a stringent admission system to select the best and the most deserving candidates. DBCET begins its admission cycle for the session commencing in August-September largely in the months of May and June. For the undergraduate programs, DBCET primarily recognizes JEE Main scores for admission consideration. However, admission via state-level entrance tests or through The Don Bosco University Graduate Entrance Test is also possible. The minimum eligibility criterion for B.Tech programs remains to be passing of 10+2 from a recognized board with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry as compulsory subjects. Generally, an aggregate percentage of 50% marks in the qualifying examination is required.
M.Tech and MCA admission tests are university-conducted entrance test-based followed by personal interviews. For admission to the M.Tech programs, GATE scores may also be factored in. Degree-wise Admission Procedure
B. Tech.The admission to B.Tech programs in DBCET is chiefly unlike to JEE Main scores. Alternatively, the admissions through state-level entrance tests followed by the Don Bosco University Graduate Entrance Test are also offered to the candidates. The college provides five B.Tech programs with the total admission of 210 seats distributed among all branches. Eligibility requires passing of 10+2 in Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry.
MCA: Under the Master of Computer Applications program, admission to DBCET shall be granted on the basis of the Don Bosco University Post Graduate Entrance Test (DBUPGET) followed by a personal interview. The course accommodates an admission capacity of 60 seats.
BCA: Admission to the Bachelor of Computer Applications program is on the basis of personal interviews. The course has an intake of 60 seats.
M.Tech: DBCET runs M.Tech programs for Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and Electronics and Communication Engineering. The passing out of the entrance test by the university and/or a personal interview goes into the admission. The intake is from 12 to 24 seats, depending on the specialization.
Ph.D.: Doctoral programs are available in the engineering disciplines of interest. The admission scheme involves the holding of entrance tests/interviews by the university to assess research aptitude among candidates.
