Doon Institute of Management and Research, Dehradun Admission Process

Doon Institute of Management and Research (DIMR), Dehradun, is a constituent of the University of Uttarakhand. It has several undergraduate programs and is recognized by the Indian Council for Agricultural Research. Through its admission process, DIMR endeavours to select qualified candidates for its other academic programs.

DIMR has five full-time undergraduate courses, all of which have specific eligibility requirements. One such course is the B.Sc. Agriculture (Hons) program, which is significant because the institute is recognized by the Indian Council for Agricultural Research with an intake of 60 seats. Other programs available include BBA, BCA, and B.Com, in addition to B.Sc. Information Technology.

DIMR provides the general admission eligibility criteria for undergraduate courses as the completion of 10+2 or its equivalent from a recognized board. However, certain subject criteria are program-specific. For instance, candidates applying for B.Sc. Agriculture (Hons) may have had science subjects in their 10+2.

Application Process

The application procedure of Doon Institute of Management and Research, Dehradun, is likely to be similar to that of most undergraduate institutions:

1. Go to the official DIMR website and search for the admissions or application link.

2. Download the application form and fill it out correctly with all relevant personal and academic details. Make sure all fields are filled in.

3. Collect the required documents, usually including:

  • Class 10th and 12th mark sheets and certificates
  • Character certificate from the last attended institution
  • Transfer certificate (if applicable)
  • Migration certificate (if there is a board/university change)
  • Recent passport photos
  • Any other documents required by the institution for the selected program.

4. Submit the filled-in application form along with all required documents. This may be done online through the Institute portal or by sending them in hard copy to the Admission Office.

5. Submit the application fee as indicated by the Institute; the mode of payment (online/offline) will be mentioned in the application instructions.

6. Subsequent to submission, applicants should check frequently for fresh information through email and the institute website on their application status, interview dates (where applicable), or any other extra requirement.

7. Shortlisted candidates might be called upon for a personal interview or an entrance test, depending on the program and the process of selection by the institute.

8. Final selection normally relies on the candidate's academic performance in 10+2, performance in any specific entrance tests or interviews conducted by the institution, and the availability of seats in the chosen program.

9. After the selection procedure, the candidates selected will need to fulfil their admission procedures, which will encompass the payment of the fee and submission of original documents to avail of the seat.

Degree-wise Admission process

B.Com: The Bachelor of Commerce program at DIMR is a full-time course of three years duration. Admission to this program is granted based on the merit of the marks of the qualifying examination (12th standard or equivalent) and emphasized on directly related commerce subjects.

BBA: Bachelor of Business Administration is a three-year full-time program. The admission procedures probably take into account the 10+2 scores of the candidate, preferably from commerce or any related subjects.

B.Sc Agriculture (Hons): This particular four-year program is one of the flagship courses at DIMR, and due to the institute's recognition from the Indian Council for Agricultural Research, the admission process for this course might be more stringent. Candidates who did their 10+2 with a science background are eligible for the course.

BCA: The Bachelor of Computer Applications is a three-year program. Admission is based on the performance in 10+2, but preference is given to those who have studied mathematics/computer science.

B.Sc Information Technology: This three-year program is designed to give IT skills. The admission criteria depend on the candidate's performance in their 10+2 examinations, particularly in mathematics and computer science subjects.
