Dr Ambedkar Institute of Pharmaceutical Science, Rourkela Admission

Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Pharmaceutical Science, Rourkela (DAIPS) is a rather recently established institution. with quality education in pharmaceutical sciences. The institute, being PCI approved, has an admission process that is structured in order to select qualified students for its pharmacy programs. DAIPS is rather committed to equality because it is a co-educational institution as well.

The DAIPS admission cycle is set to match the academic calendar of pharmacy education in India, allowing for applications to start in the first quarter of the year for the academic session that starts later.

The candidate applying to DAIPS must have completed his 10+2 education with core subjects of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Mathematics from a recognized board. An aggregate minimum score of 50% (45% for reserved categories) is usually expected in these subjects. Age criteria may also apply, and most programs accept students who have completed 17 years of age at the time of admission. Given its approval by the Pharmacy Council of India, DAIPS likely considers scores from national-level entrance exams for admissions.

Application Procedure

As one can understand the application process in Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Pharmaceutical Science, Rourkela must be quite traditional for pharmacy institutions:

1. Entrance Exam: The first would be the relevant entrance exam the candidate has to appear for-in this case, NEET for B.Pharma or state level exams for D.Pharma.

2. Application Form: It is available at the institute after the declaration of the exam result for those eligible candidates. These forms are provided on the website of the institutes or through an admission portal at a centralized stage.

3. Submission of documents: The application requires submission of the following necessary documents:

  • 10th and 12th mark sheets and certificates
  • Score card for entrance exam
  • Category certificate (wherever applicable)
  • Domicile certificate, if needed
  • Recent passport-size photographs
  • Any other document demanded by the institute

4. Application Fee : Pay the application fee through the prescribed channel (online or offline)

5. Counseling process: Shortlisted candidates are called for a counseling process where the preferred course choices are made according to the student's merit and available seats.

6. Admission Confirmation: After seat allotment, candidates are required to confirm their admission by paying the fees and submitting original documents for verification.

7. Orientation: Admitted students attend an orientation program to familiarize themselves with the institute and its facilities.

 Degree wise Admission Process

B.Pharma : Four-year undergraduate course of Bachelor of Pharmacy with an intake of 100 approved seats. Admission will be through counseling based on entrance examination performance of candidate, possibly NEET or as applicable any pharmacy entrance examination conducted at the state level. Eligibility: 10+2 in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Mathematics.

D.Pharma: DAIPS provides a course in Diploma in Pharmacy with 60 approved intakes. Such a course takes about two years to complete for students who have the desire to join the pharmacy sector as quickly as possible. The admission of D.Pharma can be according to the merit of 10+2 scores or through any entrance exam prescribed by the government of the particular state. It is generally accessible to students passing 10+2 with the science stream.
