Dr.M.V. Shetty College of Physiotherapy started in the year 1990 situated at Mangalore, Karnataka. This affiliated college is located in a three acre land and has been moulding the future physiotherapy course for over three decades. The college has 10 courses across 3-degree levels with total enrolment of 392 students and a faculty of 24 with specialisations in multi domains of physiotherapy. Another way through which this is achieved is that the institution is well accredited, boasting of quality education learnt in the best curriculum supplemented by quality facilities.

Dr.M.V. Shetty College of Physiotherapy provides a wide range of amenities to improve the academic effectiveness of its learners: Efficient laboratories are available on the campus, and they have all the BEST requirement to give practical training in differentiated physiotherapy techniques. Modern Computer and Technology Centre houses a vast collection of more than 14000 books, 40 national and international journals, e-journals, e-books, e-encyclopedia etc. The need to develop the college in its entirety is well illustrated by the sporting amenities such as shuttle badminton court, volleyball and kabaddi court, indoor games, table tennis, carom, and chess.

Education in the physiotherapy has been developed at Dr. M.V. Shetty College of Physiotherapy has a vast number of courses to offer at different certification level. There are 10 courses offered by the institute, which are full time, part time and research. The pioneer programme of the college is the Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) with an intake capacity of 75 students fills the initial framework of the college. At the post graduate Level the college offers Master of physiotherapy MPT programmes in Musculoskeletal sciences, Neurological sciences, Cardiothoracic and Pulmonary sciences, Community physiotherapy, Paediatric physiotherapy, Movement disorders and sports sciences.

Admissions at Dr. M.V. Shetty College of Physiotherapy as are offered as per the merit of the student applying for admission to the institution. For BPT programme candidate should have passed the qualifying examination in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English separately and minimum marks required is 45% (40% for SC/ST category and category candidates). Consequently, its selection is generally undertaken depending on the performance achieved in the specific subjects that are mentioned.
