Dr. Syamala Reddy College of Nursing, Bengaluru, a pioneer institution was started in the year 2000 and exclusively offering Nursing courses. Nursing college recognised by the Indian Nursing Council (INC), it has a set of flexible nursing courses for different level of experience. The college offers 8 courses at 4 degree levels offering specialisation in nursing courses from diploma to post graduate.

Dr. Syamala Reddy College of Nursing has many physical facilities that are created to support students and improve the teaching process. In both boys and girls hostels, well illuminated study rooms provide the conducive environment needed for effective studies. The provided facility comprises some of the best practice laboratory sections such as Nursing Foundations Lab, MCH Lab, Community Lab, Nutrition Lab, Anatomy Lab, and A.V. Aids Lab. These stations are fitted with new instruments enabling the learner to have a feel of the real world situations within a controlled environment. The college also provides for transportation, canteen and facilities for banking means for the comfort of the students. In teaching learning and research, facilities such as a modern library and computers/IT facilities facilitate teaching and learning.

Dr. Syamala Reddy College of Nursing gives the necessary education to provide comprehensive choice of Nursing course. The institution offers 8 full –time programmes, these being diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The General Nursing and Midwifery and B.Sc Nursing courses take 60 students each and the Post Basic B.Sc Nursing takes 30 students. PG courses include different specialisations of M.Sc Nursing for which the college takes in 5 students for each course. They are Medical Surgical Nursing, Child Health Nursing, Obstetric and Gynecological Nursing, Mental health Nursing and Community health Nursing.

1. Application form: An interested candidate can download the application form from the college's official website or fetch the same in person from campus.".

2. Application form: Fill all such details in the application form by filling all the required fields with accuracy. Pay attention to details pertaining to personal and academic information.

3. Required documents: Collect all the documents required for the process, mainly

  • Passport-sized photographs
  • 10th and 12th standard mark sheets and certificates
  • Transfer certificate from the last institution attended
  • Caste certificate, if needed
  • Any other such certificates or documents demanded by the college.

4. Submitting the application form: Once all the columns are filled up, the application form with all the documents has to be forwarded to the college's admissions office by the date mentioned.

5. Entrance test: Not many colleges require an entrance test; that again depends upon the course as well as the respective college policy. The syllabus and pattern of the test shall be intimated by the respective college.

6. Interview process: The procedure for interview for postgraduate programs can also be altered accordingly also.

8. Verification of documents with fee deposit In case candidates are cleared for the concerned post, it is assumed that original copies of required documents be submitted along with payment of any applicable fees will complete the proceedings.

9. Orientation and Regular Classes: Students who join are given an orientation session before they are dispatched for regular classes.

Degree-wise Admission Process:

GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery): The college offers a diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery, with an intake capacity of 60 students. It is open to candidates who have passed 10+2 in science subjects.

B.Sc Nursing: This is an undergraduate programme of four years with an intake of 60 students. It requires 10+2, with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Academic performance may also be considered during admission, but an entrance exam could also be the case.

Post Basic B.Sc Nursing: It is a degree for registered nurses who want to upgrade their qualification. The intake of the college is 30 students for this course. Eligible candidates have to be from GNM, with relevant experience.

M.Sc Nursing: The courses offered by the college are postgraduate M.Sc Nursing in a variety of streams, with a total intake of 5 students in each branch.
