Dr. Vaishampayan Memorial Government Medical College, Solapur, DVMGMC for short, is undoubtedly one of the many excellent medical institutions under government control. The admission into DVMGMC is merit-based and strictly follows national standards of medical admissions. The admission cycle for the DVMGMC usually opens in May-June for the academic year that commences in August-September. The admission process for undergraduate programs is mainly through NEET UG, while for postgraduate admission, it follows NEET PG.  For admission into MBBS programs, students must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as compulsory subjects. MD: The college offers a range of MD courses with 44 seats available through 9 different specializations. Admission is through NEET PG followed by counseling. MS: DVMGMC has allocated 25 seats for MS programs across 5 specializations. Admission is through NEET PG. The specialties are: Obstetrics and Gynaecology (9 seats), General Surgery (8 seats), Anatomy (3 seats), Ophthalmology (3 seats), and ENT (3 seats).

Diploma: The college also provides 12 seats for different diploma courses across 8 specializations. These are admission based on NEET PG scores.
