ESSM College of Education at Thiruvallur, Tamil Nadu small but well-known college that prepares professional teachers. Founded in 2008 this co-educational college has been training future educators for more than 10 years. The college is recognized by Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University and also possessing accreditation from National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Recognised by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) ESSM College of Education has set up its sprawling Campus over an area of more than 5 acres of Land of ESSM in a separate Campus Area.

The facility with more than 6000 books categorised in subjects like Mathematics, Commerce, Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, Tamil, English is available in the college library. Internet browsing facility and e-books, e-journals are also available at the library including INFLIBNET with a traditional emphasis on research. Concerning physical health, the college has feeble facilities of volley ball, foot ball, throw ball, basketball, gym and ground. Well-equipped laboratories are available on the campus to support all these programmes and they include a large Physics laboratory that can comfortably accommodate 40 students at a time and an equally equipped ground breaking Chemistry laboratory. In order to accommodate students from different geographical background with regards to their different needs, ESSM College of Education has available a separate hostel for male and female students.

ESSM College of Education mainly provides the B.Ed course as its core programme, as was mentioned before. This full-time programme has an approved annual cohort size of one hundred students and seek a two-year academic offer. The B.Ed course is essentially aimed at producing quality teachers for practice in school teaching and learning environment. At the moment the college has only one degree programme but it can be said that the college offers high quality education for the teachers.

Per the rules stated by the state government, Union Territory administration and the affiliated university, the ESSM College of Education follows merit-based admission process for all its courses. Qualifying examination or entrance test examination scores will be taken into consideration for the admissions.
