Situated right in Pune, Maharashtra, Ethel Gordon Junior College of Education is a prestigious enough institution that has been around since 1910. This NCTE-approved separate institute has been creating education dynamics for more than a hundred years. Accredited from Porwal Metallica, New Nana Peth, Rasta Peth, itself, is a small college that has a campus area of only 3.5 acres of land suitable for the intimate learning process. This is again due to the fact that with a total student enrolment of 56 and a total faculty of 8 members, the college has the facility of maintaining a proper and disciplined ratio of students to teachers.

The college has put in place a number of amenities that help in the improvement of learning as well as the development of students. A big library for accessing the right kind of information and knowledge is a must. On the same lines, smart and well-equipped departmental laboratories for practical knowledge are essential. An auditorium in the college serves different occasions, such as seminars, thus promoting an active scholarly environment. Academic environment: to enhance students’ health, the school has a health centre with amenities for first aid. The institution also considers the provision of sporting activities with exclusive facilities for sporting activities. However, as part of the hostel facilities, Ethel Gordon Junior College of Education provides hostels for male and female students to provide a home away from home for those students who are out of their home regions. Innovation in the college is showing through the good IT facilities, which will prepare the students for the modern world.

At present, Ethel Gordon Junior College of Education offers one primary course. The course is known as the Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed). This programme takes two years and is offered only for full-time students since it prepares the students for facing the complexities of primary and elementary level education.
