J.RUI is a constituent college dedicated to the legal education situated at Ranchi was established in 2012, viz the Faculty of Law. This institute is situated in Ranchi, Jharkhand having 7 acre campus and provides suitable ambience for future legal professionals. The faculty is recognised by the Bar Council of India (BCI) which means that every programme offered pursues what is required for legal education in India. Currently the institute has 7 members of the teaching faculty and, owing to small size, all students are given the opportunity to enhance their knowledge, develop practical skills, and receive due attention.
Looking at the Faculty of Law one can observe the organisation appropriately equipped with the modern tools improving students learning capacities. The contemporary library occupying over 8000 sq. feet is stocked with more than 25000 text books along with other references, magazines, journals and periodicals. It uses the highly developed KOHA Software for its E-Library system by which students can easily get the necessary materials. Facilities’ It solution comprises of an internet and international connection shared PC’s in the computer laboratory which totals over 120 linked refrigerated organised personal computers, and wireless internet connection across the institute. An important component of the faculty is the Moot Court through which students undergo preparation with actual case situations. The classrooms and facilities are well designed, large play grounds, and a cafeteria also add up to the environment. It also consists of hostels for male and female students to accommodate out station students to have a comfortable stay.
The Faculty of Law has formulated three full courses that which it deems will serve a three-pronged purpose of filling gaps in legal education. These include a 3 year LLB programme, a five year integrated course of BA-LLB and B.Com-LLB. Each of these courses has an approved student capacity intake of 60 students across all programmes meaning that the university offers 180 such places in total.
