Fakir Chand College, 24 Parganas Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The College has First-Aid Boxes kept in the Boys' and Girls' Common Rooms, Staffroom, Office Section, and NSS Room. The NSS Room also keeps a Weighing Machine and B.P. Measurement Machine handy. Besides this, every laboratory-based department arranges first-aid facilities for students working in the lab in case of any incident. Moreover, our College has a membership at the Students' Health Home under the University of Calcutta. Students in need of medical care get access to medical facilities and specialized treatment under this scheme. All students are encouraged to become members of the Student’s Health Home situated in Kolkata for any serious and emergency situation. For this purpose, a fund is raised by collecting the ‘students health home fee' as a part of the admission fee. Arrangements with a local Nursing Home for quick medical care and admission, along with guaranteed Ambulance service are in place. A local doctor on call is available twenty-four hours a day. Provision of separate Sick Rooms for students and staff members on UG and PG campuses is present.

The College houses a well-equipped 16 Station Gymnasium along with a walker and one exercycle. Also, some yoga facilities will be available soon.

The College has Library is divided into three broad sections. The Undergraduate Section Library, the Postgraduate Section Library, and the B.ED Section library. All the three branches are enriched with a good number of books and reading materials of all subjects acc to the respective syllabus. It also has a good collection of current magazines and journals. The UG Section Library is further divided into two sections- the art Library and the Science/Commerce Library. Teachers and students get ample place, opportunity, and environment for reading and borrowing books/journals within the framework of college rules and regulations. 8 AM to 4 PM is the normal working hour of the library. The College Library has membership in N-LIST (INFLIBNET) & DELNET.

The College is affiliated with the Sports Board of the University of Calcutta. Our college has its own outdoor and indoor games and sports facilities along with a large playground and well-equipped Students' Common Rooms. Annual Sports of all the sections of the College are organized in this playground regularly with the enthusiastic participation of students, teachers, and non-teaching staff members. Our students have been participating in the InterCollege Sports Meet for many years and have made us proud with admirable performance. The College achieved the distinction of winning the Interdistrict College Knockout Football Championship in the years 2004 & 2005 consecutively and also became 1st runner-up in the year 2006. The Intradistrict Athletic Meet and Football Championship for the year 2006 was organized by our college in which our students have achieved the honor of winning the championship title in Athletics. In the year 2008, our College won the Champion's Trophy in both the 9th Inter Non-Government College District Football Championship and the 9th Inter NonGovernment College DistrictAthletics Meet (Women). In 2012 and 2016 our college stood 1 st, runner-up, in the Inter-College football championship organized by the dept. of Sports&YouthWelfare, Govt. of W.B. In 2013, 2014, and 2015 as well students of the College secured several District-level sports prizes.

The college has an excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students.

The College has been constructed taking assistance from the MPLAD fund where the Students' Canteen and Common Rooms are located. The Canteen caters to the needs of all students and members of the staff at subsidized prices.

The college has an auditorium facility for events and seminars.

The College has an Alumni Association whose members are always extending their support and assistance for the all-around development of the College. The Association meets annually and organizes various humanitarian and social work programs.

The College has Science Faculty of the college possesses well-equipped laboratories of admirable standard. Computers, technically advanced instruments, live samples, microscopes, etc. are readily available to the students to facilitate their learning process more scientifically under the guidance of a group of extremely efficient and student-friendly teachers

The College has a Well-equipped Computer Section with a LASER printer, scanner, etc. Cheap Store with photocopy and internet facility.
