GIET, a institution recognized in the year 2009 is an engineering college situated in Cuttack Odisha. Located at Jagatpur near Kharia Bridge, this affiliated college is spread over a total area of 6 Acres of land. GIET is also an AICTE affiliated college which focuses in providing quality education in specialized engineering areas. It takes an overall student enrolment of 807 with a faculty of 47 and thus provides favorable conditions for learning. GIET offers five diploma courses in engineering fields which are different from each other to fulfill the requirements of the market.

The institute is equipped with a host of new age amenities to support the learning process or its students. GIET provides different hostels for boys and girls to make them feel more comfortable and safe. With proper hostels; accommodation sanitation standards, hygiene and medical amenities are impressive. The institute library is a knowledge centre, which contains an estimated 4,000 books and 10 periodicals in a number of disciplines. In order to support the practical learning, the college also offers adequate number of laboratories such as Physics lab, Chemistry lab, Basic Electric Lab, Workshop practice lab, Communication lab etc.

GIET has a total of five engineering diploma courses that are full time and take a duration of three years. These are the diploma programs; Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering.
