Affiliated college of IKGPTU, GGS Polytechnic College Kharar is situated in Kharar on Chandigarh Ludhiana Highway and started in year 2004. It is a 5 acre campus that provide numerous diploma courses in various fields of engineering. In all, with a student enrolment of 321 and faculty of 45, GGS Polytechnic College offers personalised learning. These are Computer Science and Engineering; Mechanical Engineering; Electrical; Engineering; and Civil Engineering and these are three-year full-time diploma courses.

They include facilities needed to complement students’ learning and personal wish lists. It has a siting capacity of one hundred and contains the current books and journals together with the e-literature from the internet. Accommodation for the students who live in the hostel is also provided and the hostel is segregated according to the gender, that is, there are hostels for boys and girls. Further, there is guest house for faculty and students of other institutions who are visiting the university as well to the families of the students too.
