24 MonthsMaster of Computer Application (MCA) is a two-year full-time course postgraduate offered by Girijananda Chowdhury University, Guwahati, and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility Criteria:
a.To be eligible for admission into 1st year MCA Course, a candidate:
i.Must have passed the Bachelor’s degree (10 + 2 + 3) with a minimum of 50 % (45 % for SC / ST candidates) marks in aggregate or in Honours / Major subject (if any) from an Indian/Foreign University (recognised by UGC/AIU).
ii.Must have Mathematics as a subject in HS (10 + 2) or graduate level.
b.To be eligible for admission into 2nd year (lateral Entry) MCA Course:
i.Candidates, who have qualified in B.Sc (Computer Science/IT) / BCA with minimum 50% (45% for SC / ST candidates) marks in aggregate from any University.
ii.Must have Mathematics as a subject in H.S. (10 + 2) or graduate level.
Admission Details
Provisional Admission:A student waiting for the declaration of the result for his / her Bachelor’s degree examination may also seek provisional admission. However, such a student must sign an undertaking that his/ her provisional admission is conditional and subject to fulfilling the eligibility criteria for admission stated above.
Counseling for Admission:Students seeking admission into MCA Programme in both 1st year and 2nd year (Lateral Entry) are to take provisional Admission as per the date of advertisement in the Newspapers or by Individual intimations. The seats will be allotted to the eligible candidates as per the performance in the Admission Test conducted by the authority.
