Gokul College of Pharmacy is a co-educational institution, located in Vishakapatnam, was established in 2007. It is one of the premier institutions for pharmaceutical education in Andhra Pradesh, India. The college is an affiliated institution and is approved by the Pharmacy Council of India. The Gokul College of Pharmacy is spread over a sprawling 120-acre campus and offers various programmes in pharmacy at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The college provides quality education to the aspiring pharmacists with a strength of 114 faculty members. The institute offers four courses: one undergraduate and three graduate courses in pharmaceutical sciences.
Gokul College of Pharmacy has excellent facilities to help students learn comfortably. The institute has a well-equipped library for a knowledge centre that will not only provide access to a large quantity of pharmaceutical literature and research material to students but also meet the domestic needs of students. An urgency case for medical treatment is provided for in a health centre with first-aid facilities. The gym facility is also provided in the college for all the fitness enthusiasts. An auditorium for the campus helps in organising events and seminars, which help in creating a healthy academic environment in the campus. The recreation time of the students can be utilised using different sports facilities. The institution also provides 24x7 Wi-Fi facilities and a canteen that caters to the culinary needs of both students and staff. The college also has facilities for transportation for both students and staff.
Altogether, Gokul College of Pharmacy offers a total of four courses, and all of the courses are full-time. Precisely, the college offers one UG course, which is B.Pharma, and three PG courses, such as M.Pharma, in numerous specialisations. The total approved intake for all courses combined is 145 seats. The B.Pharma programme, at the root of pharmaceutical education, has an intake capacity of 100 seats. Among the three M.Pharma programmes—Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Analysis, and Industrial Pharmacy—each has 15 seats to allow specialised education in these crucial areas of pharmacy.
The admission process at Gokul College of Pharmacy involves selecting deserving candidates for admission to various programmes. Admissions into the B.Pharma programme are mainly based on the Andhra Pradesh Engineering Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test conducted by AP EAMCET. This state-level entrance examination analyses the candidate's aptitude for pharmacy education. When it comes to postgraduate level admissions, the college would consider scores attained by students in the Andhra Pradesh Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test, popularly known as AP PGECET. Entrance exams cater to the purpose of making sure that admission to such prestigious programmes is accorded only to the very meritorious.
