About Gopalan School of Architecture and Planning, Bangalore

Affiliated to VTU, Gopalan School of Architecture and Planning was set up in 2014 and is one of the best architectural school situated at Bangalore, Karnataka. Being an affiliated college with the Council of Architecture, the institute provides a balance of theory and practice in the area of Architecture and Planning. Located on a small 0.85 hectare plot, GSAP offers the concentrated academic setting for its 139 registered students. It has a faculty of 14 committed personnel and offers 2 courses in two courses only. 

GSAP prides of providing of a full set of the industry facilities to improve students life. The campus provides a provided for living separately for boys and girls; the hostels provide a second home that encourages interaction of cultures among the learners. The college has established a health centre for all students that has first aid services and a modern exercise fitness. The academic and research facility is complemented by well-resourced library facilities to support learning and research, in addition to well-equipped, modern laboratory facilities are necessary for practical learning achieved in the architecture profession in its varying brackets. Regarding sports, the college provides the services of summer training facilities, such as a 25-meter swimming pool, outdoor athletic training to encourage the physical and cooperative activities among the students. The entire compound of the college has got wireless facilities to support the academic needs of the students. Also, GSAP provides transport facilities to provide comfort to students and faculty members to travel easily.

In terms of academic offerings, GSAP provides two full-time courses, a full 5 year B.Arch programme with 40 student intake and a 2 year post graduate M.Arch Construction Project Management programme with 10 student intake. The total intake of students for all the programmes is 50 and to encourage more interaction between the faculty and students. This institute maintains fewer students per faculty.

 The given admission process of GSAP is aimed at choosing the best talents in the sphere of architecture. The admission to the B.Arch programme is based on the result of the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) or Joint Entrance Examination (JEE ) Paper- 2. The college also accept admissions from CET merit list of the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA). It would like to place on record that GSAP has no provision for students to join the programme at midstream at any point of time in B.Arch course through any other qualification. The admission to the M.Arch programme depends on the PGCET test organised by the Government of Karnataka.

Gopalan School of Architecture and Planning, Bangalore Admission

Bangalore-based Gopalan School of Architecture and Planning (GSAP) is a state-of-the-art institution that grants specialized degrees in the fields of architecture and planning. The admission criteria at GSAP are so as to enroll most talented and fit students into these programs. In addition, GTU is in association with the Visvesvaraya Technological University and, hence, with the approval by the Council of Architecture, so the education becomes of the superior quality. For B.Arch admissions, GSAP accepts scores from the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) or the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Paper-2. In addition to this, the admissions are also done through the Common Entrance Test (CET) merit list published by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA).

Eligible candidates for this course are considered under M.Arch admission based upon the performance scale in the test called Post Graduate Common Entrance Test, conducted under the Government of Karnataka. Candidates are also short-listed under management quota for their admissions in the program.The academic year at GSAP typically begins in August-September, with the admission process starting a few months prior. Application Process: 

The process differs according to the program:

 For B.Arch

1. Clear the NATA or JEE Paper-2

2. Admission through KEA:

  • Enroll for the Karnataka CET
  • Attend counseling done by KEA
  • Once a seat is allotted at GSAP, admission formalities must be done in accordance with the KEA norms

3. Direct admission:

  • log in to the website of GSAP https://www.gopalancolleges.com/gsap/.
  • Submit the application form for B.Arch.
  • Attach necessary documents along with NATA/JEE Paper-2 score.
  • Pay the application fee as mandated on the website.

For M.Arch in Construction Project Management:

1. Attend PGCET of the Government of Karnataka.

2. For admission through PGCET:

  • Attend counseling process conducted by the concerned authority.
  • Follow the procedure for seat allotment at GSAP for completing admission formalities.

3. For Management Quota admissions:

Contact the GSAP admissions office directly for the application.

Submit the following documents: B.Arch degree certificate and marks cards

Undergo further selection process as per institute norms

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Arch: The Bachelor of Architecture course at GSAP is a 5-year full-time course with an intake of 40 students. Admission to this program is based on the following criteria:

  • Candidates must have cleared the National Aptitude Test for Architecture (NATA) or the JEE Paper-2 examination.
  • Admissions are also conducted through the CET merit list published by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA).
  • Eligibility requirement is the passage of 10+2 examination or equivalent where Physics, Chemistry, and Maths are mandatory for the programme
  • Lateral entry is not given at any moment of B Arch programme.

M A, Construction Project management: It has a 2-year postgraduation programme taking 10 Students. Admission requirements include

-PGCET Conducted by government of Karnataka Selects candidates:.

 Admission can also be made under Management Quota

 Candidates must hold a B.Arch degree or equivalent qualification from an approved university.
