Government College, Karsog Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

There is a hostel for SC/ST girls having a capacity of 53 students. A student can apply for hostel accommodation after she is admitted to the college. Admission forms for hostel accommodation are available in the college. The recommendation of the warden is necessary for admission to the hostel. Students belonging to the SC/ST category will be given preference in the allotment. If vacancies in the college are left, the same can be filled from amongst the girls of the general category also. It has all the facilities such as spacious hostel rooms with required furniture and curtains; a Common Room with TV, Table Tennis, Carom and Chess; a mess facility on a contract/ co-operative basis and all other amenities to make the living experience very conducive to studies.

The College has a well-furnished library with a capacity for seating 150 students. It has a stack of more than 10000 books and it subscribes to magazines, journals, and newspapers.

The college has a departmental-based laboratory facility for the students. Chemistry (2), Physics (2), Botany (1), Zoology (1), Geography lab with a projector (1), Computer/ IT labs with multi-media/projector facilities, and 50 computers (2). Language Lab- One with 20 computers and software for enhancing communication skills.

The college canteen is housed in an aesthetically designed block in the vicinity of the college campus. It caters to the refreshments and other such needs of the students and the staff. It also provides them with a space for relaxation and recreation during the hectic classroom schedule.

One with a capacity for seating 125-135 persons having all multi-media facilities including a dais and electronic lectern/visualizer. Multi-purpose cum-Examination Hall - 01 with capacity for 150 examinees and more than 300 students during college functions/events.

The college has an excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students. ICT Resource Centre for staff - One with 5 computers and a printer with Internet Facilities.

The College has a Gym facility for students and staff.

Besides academics, games and sports are an integral part of students' lives. Het Ram, the pride of the college brought accolades to the institute by bagging a Gold medal in Inter-College Boxing Championship held at Kullu. He has also been selected for the Inter-University Championship. Khem Raj too added to the tally of medals by winning the Silver Medal in the Inter-College Boxing Championship held at Kullu. Khub Raj (BAI) and Gaurav Kumar (BA II) played Inter-University Kho-Kho Championship at UP. The college teams in Kabbadi, Kho-Kho, Badminton, Volleyball, Handball, and Cross Country performed well. The students participated actively in the Annual Athletic Meet held successfully on December 16, 2011. Rohit Kumar was adjudged as the best athlete among boys and Susheela and Reena as the best athletes among girls.

The college has good networking for the alumni association. The Old Students Association (OSA) has been established recently as an Alumni Association. The association has conducted a cultural function and awarded the top ten alumni of the college. Four faculty members of the college, one scientist in ARIES, and Asstt. CDPO and a Metallurgist are among the top ten alumni of the college. A special award Sw. Vivekanand Award has been introduced to the best student of the year which will be distributed every year.

The College has a Wi-Fi facility available in the College building/ campus.

The college has a parking space facility for its faculty, staff, and students.

The college has a health center with a first aid facility for the students.

Our Eco Club's goal is to enable students to actively engage in environmental protection and sustainable lifestyles on campus and in the local community by educating, engaging, and inspiring them to do so. Through collaborative efforts, and significant actions, we seek to spread awareness about urgent environmental challenges and encourage positive change.

The cell tries to invite placement divisions of different companies despite the rural backdrop of the institution.
