Government Engineering College, Karwar (GECK Karwar) is a leading thrust university that came into existence in 2009. This affiliated college is located at Majali Village, Karwar Taluk, Uttara Kannada District of Karnataka state and it occupies an area of 14.34 acres. GECK Karwar is recognised by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) which provide quality engineers in our nation. The college is currently hosting a total of 597 students with the assistance of 12 members of the faculty. In GECK Karwar, four full-time BE programs are there, which have a span of four years to produce well equipped engineers of different fields.
It is mandatory that, the college strives to ensure it offer adequate facilities that will help facilitate learning environment in order to enable the students achieve their intended academic and personal needs. The library of GECK Karwar contains book stock of 7612 books out of which there is also SC/ST Book Bank sanctioned by Social Welfare Department of Karnataka Government. This extensive collection is complete with additional contributions from students, faculty and other well-wishers. This college has got modern and well equipped laboratory for each department focusing on practical teaching to the students. To eradicate health problems within the community around the institute and its students, GECK Karwar has a health center with first aid services.

B. Tech/BE: It presents the four BE programs namely Government Engineering College Karwar. The admissions to these courses take place based on the merit achieved by the candidates in the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET). The following BE programs are conducted here with an approved intake of 60 students for each program:
1. BE in Mechanical Engineering
2. BE in Civil Engineering
3. BE in Electronics and Communication Engineering
4. BE in Computer Science and Engineering
