Government PG College developed under the Himachal Pradesh University's aegis with the stated intention of being an inter affiliated college for that university. In short, it offers a spectrum of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in myriad disciplines ranging from the Arts to Science, Commerce, and Management. For Government PG College, Una, the admission procedure is just an equally fair, transparent, and merit-based one. Usually, the college adheres to the admission schedule released by Himachal Pradesh University. For most programs, admissions open shortly after the declaration of 10+2 results for undergraduate courses, which is true for all but one of the postgraduate courses-with that single course, the entry coincides with that of completing a bachelor's degree.
This is the primary eligibility requirement for undergraduate programs: successful completion of 10+2 or equivalent examination conducted from a recognized board. Thus, the selection is primarily based on the marks secured in the qualifying examination. For postgraduate courses, the qualifying criterion is the completion of the bachelor's degree in the relevant discipline from any recognized university. It should be understood that all admissions are provisional at Government PG College, Una until otherwise confirmed and approved by Himachal Pradesh University.
Application Process
However, the application process in general for Government PG College Una involves the following:
1. Notification: Admission notification is released by the college in its official site and on local newspapers.
2. Application Form: All candidates are to fill in and obtain their application forms from the college office. The forms are available both online and offline depending on the course.

Degree wise Admission Process
Admission to the BA program is based on the marks obtained in the 10+2 examination. The college has various subject combinations under the Arts streams.
For the B.Sc programs, candidates having completed their 10+2 with Science subjects are eligible for applying. Admission is based on merit and depending on marks in the qualifying examinations.
B.Com: In the B.Com program, there are 200 available seats, with admission strictly on merit and dependent on the marks obtained by applicants in their 10+2 examination and preferred subject in Commerce.
BCA (Self-Financing): The BCA program is open on a merit list formed from 10+2 marks, with preference for having Mathematics/Computer Science.
BBA (Self-Financing): The Bachelor of Business Administration admits students according to their 10+2 results, the same method employed as for the other undergraduate courses.
MA Programs: The college has MA programs in English, Political Science, Public Administration, Hindi, Economics, and History. Admissions into such postgraduate courses are strictly based on merit, considering the marks accrued in the relevant bachelor's course.
M.Com: The admission for Master of Commerce is mainly merit-based, considering the marks obtained in B.Com or equivalent degree.
MBA (Self-Finance): There are 60 availabilities for the MBA program. The admission is based strictly on merit, depending on into which group the candidate falls in terms of the bachelor degree.
60 MCA (Self-Finance): Like other postgraduate courses, Master of Computer Applications (MCA) also offers 60 seats, and the admission is on a merit basis.
B.Voc Programs: It offers B.Voc in Retail Management and Hospitality and Tourism. The final merit list of students for these programs will be determined on merit.
Training in qualitative and quantitative research methods equips students to analyze societal trends and human behavior. Critical Thinking and Communication: Classroom discussions, debates, and presentations enhance critical thinking and articulate expression. Workshops and Certifications: Add-on certifications in areas like Policy Analysis, Social Work, and Data Analytics enhance employability.
The faculty is quite helpful in the college campus. There are well furnished laboratories that allow us to learn more about the biological functions and we can focus on subjects like environmental monitoring, food microbiology.
