Government Polytechnic College, Alwar (GPC-Alwar) is one of the existing technical institutions situated in Alwar, Rajasthan. This affiliated college was started in 1960 and it has been grooming technical talents for more than sixty years. Placed over a vast campus area of 46 acres, GPC Alwar is an AICTE-approved institution. The said institute teaches a total of 651 students and has five diploma programmes. The total number of teaching staff consists of 39 faculty members familiar with collegiate policies and devoted to enhancing students’ quality education.

GPC Alwar has developed and employed a number of features that work to prepare appropriate environment for students to learn. The college library located in the admin block of the college consists of more than 34000 books and has national as well as international journal subscriptions. The institute has over 30 functionally specialised departmental laboratories stocked with modern state-of-the-art equipment for practicals. The campus has 13 lecture halls, with the seating capacity being 60-100 students, two seminar halls and a drawing hall.

There is a multipurpose hall which occupies an area of about 300 sq. m. and is designed for 200 students A multipurpose hall with a capacity of 200 students is used used to hold conferences and other major events. It also focuses on the health of the students and also provides the facility of games to keep the health of the college very neat & Clean. Furthermore, students have a privilege to stay in a school canteen, and there is a health centre where there is a first aid section in case of emergencies Students also enjoy a good Information Technology (IT) infrastructure.

They have 5 full-time courses that lead to a diploma and all of these take 3 years to complete. These courses are offered across the different engineering fields to ensure that learners. The courses are Civil, Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, and Fashion. These courses are available across the different fields of engineering to ensure learners acquire a good grounding in technical education. The total approved intake across all courses is 230 seats, which the institute has chosen to keep an optimum class size in order to offer quality education. Though specific details of the latest graduation statistics were not available, there are 651 students enrolled, which shows that there is a constant demand for engineering professionals from the institute.
