About Government Polytechnic College, Valangaiman

GPTC Valangaiman was established in the year of 2016 with its main objective to deliver technical education in Thozhuvur of Valangaiman in the Thiruvarur district of Tamil Nadu, India. This affiliated college is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to promote standard technical education. GPTC Valangaiman awards diploma across five disciplines and offers intakes of 791 students in total. Having a pool of 12 qualified teachers in the faculty, the college assures adequate student-teachers ratio so as to improve the effective student learning environment.

GPTC Valangaiman comes with full-facilities designed to support the campus and the educational needs of the students. The college has fully equipped laboratories for each department so as to ensure student practical experience needed for their technical college. For the lovers of sports and gym, the institute has opportunities for different kinds of sport and a gym. The college library is stocked with several sections, with an accumulation of 5,010 titles and 9,025 volumes of books and literature, magazine and journals subscriptions. Spacious reading hall is available in the library for the students, it has 50 separate seating for the users. The  second floor is dedicated E-learning floor this floor contains NPTEL web video courses, E-learning developed by NITTTR CDs etc.

This college provides a total of five full-time diploma courses where the completion of each course is three years. These programmes consist of major fields of engineering so that students can perform in several industrial fields. The overall approved capacity of all courses is 300 and every programme has the capacity to admit 60 students. The courses offered are Mechanical, Electronics and Communication, Computer Science, Electrical and Electronics, and Civil.
