The Government Polytechnic, Jammalamadu, was started in 2008, and it is an affiliated college located in the YSR District of Andhra Pradesh. This is a diploma-awarding institution in technical education certified by AICTE in Manipal. With an aggregate land area of 13 acres, the total enrolment capacity of the polytechnic is 306, and it has 14 faculty members.

Government Polytechnic has many facilities that can in one way or another enhance the students’ experience within the institute. A library is an important learning resource on campus; it provides books and reference works to support student learning. Modern, equipped laboratories produce practical experiences for students because they offer them practical scenarios that they encounter from the theoretical aspects they learned. Male students especially have the privilege of the boys’ hostel, where the intended beneficiaries will be offered comfortable accommodation where necessary.

This focus comes with the grooming of two full-time diploma programmes offered at Government Polytechnic, Jammalamadugu. The Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering programmes both take three years, enabling graduates to have a sound background in their discipline.

Government Polytechnic, Jammalamadugu admission procedure includes, majorly, the POLYCET examination conducted in Andhra Pradesh. This exam, like all others, is sat once a year to determine those who have the disposition for the polytechnic system of learning. Aspiring students are also needed to write the AP POLYCET exam and obtain a qualifying rank to join the college.
