Latterly, Government Polytechnic, Kushalnagar was established in 1961 at Somawarpet, Coorg District of Karnataka. This is a co-educational institute located on a vast area of 37 acres which provides diploma courses in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electronics and Communication and Metallurgical Engineering disciplines. The institute has a total strength of 637 students and a faculty of 32 which cumulatively offer a favourable ambiance for technical training.
