The infrastructure is really good. The new building, called the Platinum Jubilee Block, is well maintained with fully equipped computer labs, classrooms that are big enough with smartboard facilities and the lighting and ventilation are also good. The library is good with a wide range of books and resources. Hostels are decent; they can do better with the management, as there are not enough rooms to accommodate people. The mess is quite hygienic but the food is very average. The hostelites have separate ground near the mess for games and sports.
Most of the teachers are very professional and knowledgeable. They are easily approachable and they'll clarify the doubts. Yes, the course is curriculum relevant and they stick to the syllabus and it has all the required knowledge and skill development for upcoming industry trends. Semester exam corrections are very strict compared to internals so that's where the scoring drops down. Pass percentage is around 70-75%.
Placements are good in BMSCE. Top companies like TCS, Accenture, etc., come here to interview the students. The college has a good placement training period also. The teachers, few of them, help in getting internship opportunities to students. The average package for my course is around 6-14 LPA.
Everything like labs, computer lab, library, classrooms, and Wi-Fi is great but the campus is small. The hostel is very expensive around Rs. 2.3 LPA, so students try to stay in PGs and many PGs are nearby. Canteen, sports, and games facilities are good. We also have a gym, indoor stadium, etc.
Most teachers are great except one or two. Teachers are highly qualified and many have PhDs. But students should do self-study to be ahead as colleges do not give depth knowledge. Course curriculum is old one followed by VTU. If students read the properly, it is easy. Passing percentage is 1/3rd of the total.
This year, there is almost 86% of placements rate is there. But students have to learn in depth in their field as college only teaches not so in deep. The highest salary package offered is 50 LPA, for AIML branch, and the lowest salary package offered ranges from 5 LPA - 6 LPA. Different types of companies visit campus. Internships are less this year, only 5 to 10 students got it.
Facilities and infrastructure for my course are very good, like they have Wi-Fi, AC, charging ports in every classroom and lab. Faculty is also very cooperative and helpful if you want some help. The quality of the food in the mess is above average, but it's good compared to other PGs and hostels. BMS sports facilities are the best thing I came across so far. They always have some kind of tournament coming up, and you will get all the facilities for training and playing. If you get injured, medical facilities are also available.
The teachers in this college are very good and helpful. If you have any doubts, they will take extra classes for you to understand the concept, give you notes, and assign tasks for better clarity. Semester exams are of decent difficulty. If you have attended the classes, you won't have any problems scoring good marks.
Almost all of the students in our course got placed, and the highest package was around 30 to 35 LPA as per my information. Amazon, Wipro, Infosys were some of the top recruiting companies. All the students got internships except a few. Faculty will make sure that you will get placed. Even some people got internships from the 2nd year.
The infrastructure at BMSCE is Good , and the campus is not very big. However, all the necessary facilities are available, and the faculty is very polite and supportive. The hostel facility is average, and the food in the mess is good compared to other colleges. The medical facilities are not up to the mark, but the canteen is good. In terms of sports, you get a lot of opportunities to participate in a variety of sports, both indoors and outdoors.
The faculty at BMSCE is outstanding, but the exams can be a bit hectic. For example, in the first semester, they complete the first semester in 3 months and conduct internal exams in each month. The exams are taken afterwards, and the best 2 out of 3 CIEs are considered. Also, there is a strict 85% attendance rule in the college. The difficulty level of the exams is moderate.
My branch has decent placements that are increasing each year. About 70-80% of students get placed through college recruitment, and the rest are placed through off-campus placements. The highest package offered was about 46 Lacs, and the average is 12 Lacs for my branch. In terms of internships, 70% of the students who applied got internships. The top roles offered were data management and web development.
In the college, classrooms are good. Library is the best in Bangalore. Library is the best part of BMSCE. In the hostel, there are the best food facilities and hot water available. Washing machines are also available. Medical facilities are also good. Sports facilities are the best.
Teachers are qualified and helpful. The teaching quality is also very good. They focus on practical skills also overall it's the best college we can get. Faculty members are good. Students need 85% of attendance to get eligibility to write exams.
College is the best, with more than 85% of students getting placed. The highest package is 50 LPA and it's not an easy word. Top companies are Google, Microsoft, etc. Above 90% of students got internships from the college BMSCE and through my course. Roles offered are manager, engineer, etc.
Infrastructure of college and the department is pretty decent. They have good labs and classrooms with smartboards as well. Library is good with books, digital books, and discussion rooms. Coming to hostel, it's decent, food is also fine, the only issue with few hostels is that these hostels are off-campus and are at a walking distance of 800-900m from college. There are no such medical facilities for hostelites.
Teachers here are knowledgeable, qualified, and experienced. Course curriculum is also good, syllabus is divided in a good manner for each semester. Exams are sometimes easy or sometimes difficult. It's moderate. Pass percentage is also good around 70%.
Around 70% of students got placed. The highest package is 33 LPA, and the lowest is 3 LPA-4LPA. The average package is 10 LPA. The top recruiting companies are Bosch, Amazon, Deloitte, etc. Around 50% of students got internships in company like Hewlett-Packard. Top roles offered in this course are ML engineer, AI scientist, MLOps engineer, data scientist, etc.
The campus is small but has good eateries and a huge library. The parking is good, and the infrastructure of one building is very good. However, the other buildings are old with broken windows and sinking washrooms.
The faculty were not that great. They acted as if they knew everything, but they lacked skills. They weren't friendly with the students. There were a few friendly faculty members, but they expected students to always raise their work and wouldn't tolerate anything against them.
The placements at this college are really bad. The college shows fake placements to the newly admitted students and then doesn't provide any placements. They provide irrelevant jobs such as sales and marketing to people who have done computer science. The college is least bothered about students' lives.
Infrastructure of our college is very amazing and beautiful. I joined because of placements and infrastructure. Wi-Fi facilities and lab are well-equipped. Classrooms are clean. Library is large with a large number of books. Hostel facilities are good in college. Canteen food is good.
Teachers are very helpful and teachers are qualified with a higher degree. Teachers have good knowledge. Many teachers have more than 15 to 20 years of experience in teaching. Course curriculum is relevant to mechanical. Semester exams are hard to pass. Pass percentage is 92%. Mechanical exams and drawing are hard.
The percentage of students who got placed from our course was 72%. The highest package offered was 23 LPA and the lowest package offered was 5 LPA to 8 LPA. Recruiting companies were Bosch, Tata Steel and L&T, Suzlon, etc. The percentage of students who were placed from our course is 83%.
BMS College of engineering in Bangalore has a solid infrastructure that supports students life.So it has 2 main blocks the Platinum jubilee Academic block (PJA Block) and Platinum Golden Academic Block(PGA).The classrooms in PJA block are spacious and well air conditioned making them comfortable for studying. As for my experience the PGA block isnt as big or spacious as the classrooms in PJA,considering it being the oldest block in campus. The library is extensive offering a vast variety of resources like books, digital systems like computers providing students with adequate knowledge about topic of interest. As for the canteens some of them are nice and offer good variety of foods. The menu isnt really expensive either but a few canteens have not that great food or did not match my expectations.
I am in my final year of engineering majoring in biotechnology. There are both positive and negative aspects to quality of teaching. As someone passionate about biotechnology the syllabus and course is really interesting and fascinating but if you need to excel at them you need to have proper time management skills to complete vast syllabus in given time and meeting deadlines could be a challenge considering the amount of work you have.
Placements are not that great in my field but you have freedom to search job or internship on your own or with help of your friends. In my batch a few people were placed in companies which were not biotechnology related.
I got through management quota so it costed about 300000 per annum excluding miscellaneous fee.
Overall i would say its a good and fun college.
