Government Polytechnic Tumkur (GPT Tumkur) inaugurated in the year 1962 is approved by AICTE and functions under the Department of Technical Education (DTE), Government of Karnataka. Courses at Government Polytechnic Tumkur include diploma in engineering courses in six streams namely automobile engineering, computer science engineering, civil engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, electronics and communication engineering, and mechanical engineering.
