Government Women's College, Sambalpur, is one of the most prestigious institutions imparting education to women in Odisha. It is affiliated to Sambalpur University and runs a number of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in various subjects under both the Arts as well as Science streams. 3. Document Submission: Candidates shall submit all of the following documents at the same time as the application form:

• Marks sheet of the qualifying examination (12th standard for UG courses; Bachelor's degree for PG courses)
• Pass certificate of the qualifying examination
• Character certificate from the last attended institution
• Caste certificate (if any)
• Recent passport-size photographs
• Other documents, if any, mentioned in the admission notification

BA (Bachelor of Arts): Government Women's College has a very wide spectrum of BA programs, with honors courses being offered in English, Anthropology, Economics, History, Geography, Home Science, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Sanskrit, and Odia. Admission to these BA programs is decided based on the marks of the 12th standard examination, while the students must also fulfill the minimum eligibility conditions laid down by the college and Sambalpur University.

B.Sc (Bachelor of Science): The B.Sc programs available include honors courses in Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, and Mathematics. As with the BA courses, admission to the B.Sc programs is based on the merit list created for these courses, using marks in the relevant subjects at the 12th standard as a basis.

MA (Master of Arts): Government Women's College offers the MA program in Odia. Admission to this postgraduate course will depend mainly on the marks obtained in the relevant bachelor's degree. Candidates with a BA in Odia or other related subjects may apply.
