HPPC Government First Grade College, Challakere Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The college does not have an exclusive health center. The first-aid service is provided on the college premises. For the emergency needs of the students and staff, help is taken from a government hospital which is just 500 m away from the campus. The trained NSS, YRC & BSG Volunteers will provide the necessary assistance.

The college HPPC Library and Information Centre has its own independent building. LAN, INTERNET (Wi-Fi) and UGC-INFLIBNET N-LIST facilities have been made in the library. A good collection of CD-ROMs and DVDs in various subjects is also available for access. Library subscribes to around 15 Research Journals in print, 57,794 Books, 120 Back volumes, 250 Dissertation,30 Magazines, 13 News Papers in printed form, and which is having more than 90,000 e-books and e-journals. It has adopted E-Lib Software for library automation and was also it established for the benefit of the Under Graduate and post-graduate students. The library consists of arts, commerce, management and science books, etc.

The college Fully-fledged Sports and games facilities for the overall development of the college community are available on the campus. The Physical Education Director will look after the sports activities and training sessions. The College playfield serves as the practice ground for outdoor disciplines like football, cricket, volleyball, handball, athletics, etc. Outdoor facilities include ground, football, volleyball court, flood-lit concrete basketball court, Kho Kho, kabaddi, ball badminton, shuttle courts, high-jump and long-jump pits, 400 m running track,

The College has two computer labs with 52 Desktop computers, necessary accessories, internet connectivity, UPS, and sufficient furniture.

The college has a canteen which is temporarily running in a shed inside the campus.

The college At present, the college has a multipurpose hall that serves as the auditorium. Open-air platforms and quadrangles in the new block are used for functions at the college level.

The college alumni of our college occupy prominent positions in society. We have established a Parents Association and Parent participation is sought in the functioning of the college. Sincere and serious efforts are made to instill a democratic spirit in students. Thus the student community is always respected and honored. Twice a year, Alumni meets are organized when the old students of the college give feedback about the relevance and validity of their course in the job market.

The college has an off-campus Men‘s Hostel with 20 well-furnished single rooms under the maintenance of the department of social welfare. We have been accommodating all those students who have sought admission to the hostel.

The college has Well-equipped laboratories with modern facilities that are made available.

The College gymnasium is in its initial stage of establishment with the financial support of Rs. 12, 00,000/- from the Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports, Zilla Panchayath, Chitradurga under the scheme Construction of Rural Gymnasium.

The college has a Wi-Fi facility for the students and staff.

The college lot has enough space for special vehicles that may be required to be used.

The college has a girl's hostel facility which provides good hostel accommodation for the students.
