IES College of Engineering, Thrissur (IESCE) is one of the growing and reputed institute of engineering which was set up in the year 2003. Situated inChittilappilly, Thrissur District, Kerala, this affiliated college occupies a total area of 40 acres of land. IESCE holds itself to quality education as determined by its NAAC accreditation and approval of AICTE. The college teaches about 851 students in 10 engineering courses offered at 2 degree level. IESCE has approximately seventy members on faculty; this makes student to teacher ratio reasonable, thereby the students get adequate attention and direction.
IES College of Engineering has the necessary campus facilities and modern equipment for the development of students. The college has separate hostels for boys and girls consisting of comparatively well-designed rooms having internet facilities round the clock security. The availability of adequate student accommodation, a modern health centre equipped with first aid facilities and an ambulance services to cater to the students’ health needs. Sports enthusiasts are provided with a perfect equipment and tools to exercise in a gym in the compound of the University. The college library is well stacked and has more than 20,000 volumes of books, 400 journals, the college library subscribes to e-journals of IEEE, ASCE, ASTM etc. Any sports passionate students can make good use of the neat playground where they occasionally hold events such as cricket, basketball, tennis and skating. For information technology, there is a rich equipment, including four air-conditioned labs and a main network with 6 servers, and over 400 terminals.
IESCE offers only engineering courses for undergraduate as well as postgraduate programmes. B.Tech courses are offered as full time with 6 specialisations while M.Tech is also full-time with 4 specialisations. The B.Tech programmes include Civil Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics and artificial intelligence, and Data Science. All these programmes has an intake capacity of sixty students but thirty students in each for Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. At present, the postgraduate programmes available include M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, and VLSI Design which have a strength of 18 students each.
IES College of Engineering follows the KEAM examination for admitting students in various undergraduate programmes, principally. This common exam helps guarantee that the college only takes in students who have a good grounding in the relevant subjects. 1. Appear for the KEAM examination conducted by the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations, Kerala
2. Register for KEAM and fill out the application form on the website.
3. Payment of the application fee.
4. Submit the complete application with necessary documents.
5. Wait for the KEAM rank list to be published.
6. Attend the Centralized Allotment Process (CAP) conducted by the Government of Kerala.
7. For those allotted a seat in IESCE, report to the college for document verifying and admission confirmation.
For M.Tech Programs:
1. Obtain a valid GATE score.
2. Refer to the college's official website for M.Tech admission announcements.
3. Download and fill the IESCE M.Tech application form.
4. Submit the application form, GATE scorecard, and other relevant documents.
5. Make the application fee payment as instructed by the institute.
6. An interview may be conducted for the shortlisted candidates at the institute.
7. The selection will be based on the GATE score and the interview performance, if applicable.
Degree-wise Admission Process
B.Tech: The IESCE has seven B.Tech programs: Computer Science and Engineering, Data Science, Civil Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Robotics and Artificial Intelligence. Admission to B.Tech is based on KEAM scores for all B.Tech programs. The intake capacity per program varies between 30 to 60 seats, in total not exceeding 270 across all B.Tech programs.
M.Tech: The three M.Tech programs are Computer Science and Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, and VLSI Design, in which 18 students are admitted each year. Admission is based on GATE scores, followed by an interview that may be conducted. An applicant must hold a B.Tech or a relevant equivalent qualification in the field in order to be considered.
