    Candidates must hold a Master’s degree or an equivalent professional degree recognized by the corresponding statutory regulatory body with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate (5% relaxation for reserved category students).

    MSc Psychiatric Nursing 

    2 years 

    Candidates must have passed a Bachelor’s degree of 3 years duration in Psychiatric Nursing under 10+2+3 pattern from any recognized university and must have scored a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate.

    Diploma in Psychiatric Nursing 

    1 years 

    • Candidates must hold a Registered Nurse (RN and RM), GNM, BSc Nursing degree or an equivalent qualification. 

    • Preference will be given to nursing personnel working under the WBNS cadre. 

    • Service seniority will be considered when accepting and processing applications. 

    • In the event that eligible government candidates are not available, vacant positions will be filled by candidates outside the WBNS cadre who have a minimum of 1 years of job experience.

    Hi,

    Treatment for mental illness varies with the type of mental disorder one has. But in most of the treatment, it involves psychiatric counseling. Sometimes it involves only psychiatric counseling and medications prescribed and no further treatment is required. The doctors who deal with the mental disorder patients are called as Psychiatrists.
