Institute of Science and Technology, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad Admission Process

The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (IST-JNTUH) Institute of Science and Technology is a well-established self-financing institute. IST-JNTUH's admission policy is aimed at choosing the highest merit students for its wide range of courses. The institute has a preference for applications through multiple national-level entrance tests, depending on the program. Admission for the majority of postgraduate programs is through GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering), GPAT (Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test), and TS PGECET (Telangana State Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test).

Eligibility requirements differ in each program. For the majority of postgraduate programs, candidates must have already cleared their bachelor's degree in the concerned subject from a well-known university. Some specific academic criteria, like minimum percentage or CGPA, can be required and are usually stated in the respective program advertisement notices.

Application Process

IST-JNTUH application procedures differ depending on the program:

For M.Tech Programs:

1. Qualify in the GATE test.
2. Complete the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP) counselling.
3. Fill-in IST-JNTUH M.Tech application form online on the web.
4. Pay the fee as applicable.
5. Short-listed candidates based on GATE will be required to come for further tests or interview.
6. Final selection on the basis of GATE score and performance in further tests/interview, if held.

For M.Sc Programs:

1. Appear for the entrance examination conducted by TSCHE.
2. Complete the IST-JNTUH M.Sc application form according to the instructions sent by the university.
3. Pay fee and submit form along with supporting documents.
4. Admission is offered on the basis of entrance exam performance and seat availability.

For M.Pharma Courses:

1. Qualify GPAT exam.
2. Complete the IST-JNTUH M.Pharma application form on the official website.
3. Pay fee and submit form with supporting documents.
4. Shortlisted candidates may be invited for subsequent rounds of selection, if any.
5. The last choice is made on the basis of GPAT score and other factors as decided by the institute.

Degree wise Admission Process

M.Tech Programs
IST-JNTUH has a number of M.Tech courses, such as Chemical Technology, Biotechnology, Environmental Management, Nanotechnology, Spatial Information Technology, etc. General admissions to M.Tech are done mostly through GATE scores. The rest of the seats are taken by TS PGECET, which is conducted by the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE). Some of the M.Tech courses, such as Biotechnology, are also available in part-time mode.

M.Sc Courses
The institute also offers M.Sc programs in fields like Environmental Science and Technology, Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Microbiology, and Biotechnology. Routine M.Sc programs offer admission through the entrance test held by Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE).

Have a question related to Institute of Science and Technology, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad ?

Can i get Electronic engineering in csab counselling afer scoring 86.70 percentile in jee mains session ist of 2025

Hello

An 86.70 percentile in JEE Mains translates to a general category rank of around 1,50,000 - 1,80,000, depending on the number of candidates appearing for the exam .

If in the General category , getting Electronics Engineering in NITs or IIITs is unlikely but some GFTIs might be possible in the CSAB rounds .

If from a reserved category (SC/ST/OBC/EWS) there is a higher chance of securing a seat in lower-ranked NITs, IIITs or GFTIs through CSAB .

I am Class 12 passed student and I have taken admission in B.Sc but have not appeared in B.Sc Ist year Exam. Which Qualifying Exam Code I should fill in NEET Application 2025.

Hello

For the NEET 2025 application , since you have passed Class 12 but haven't appeared for your B.Sc. 1st-year exams , the qualifying exam code should be 02.

Code 02 is for students who have passed their Class 12 qualifying examination and meet the eligibility criteria for NEET (with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English as core subjects).

Hope this helps you .

ALL THE BEST

I am still confused about Qualification Code for NEET 25. I passed Class 12 from CBSE in 2023.At present I have taken admission in B.Sc Ist year but not appeared in first Semester Exam of first year. So which Code I should fill in NEET application of 2025. At the time of counselling my B.Sc College TC will be submitted. Please help me decide.

Hello Satakshi,

Since you passed Class 12 in 2023 and are currently in the first year of B.Sc but have not appeared for the first-semester exam , you should select Qualification Code 02 in the NEET 2025 application form.

Reasoning:

  • Code 02 applies to students who have completed Class 12 with PCB but have not completed a Bachelor's degree or appeared for university exams.

  • Code 05 or 06 is for those who have completed at least one year of B.Sc with subjects like Biology, Chemistry, and Physics and have appeared for exams.

  • Since you haven’t given any semester exams yet, you are still considered a 12th-passed candidate , so Code 02 is correct .

During counseling , you will submit your 12th certificate and Transfer Certificate (TC) from your B.Sc college.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries then feel free to share your questions with us we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you and wishing you all the best for your bright future.
