IISER Pune Admission Process

Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Pune offers admissions at three levels: UG, PG and doctoral. IISER Pune admissions are offered to BS-MS dual degrees, MSc, Integrated PhD and PhD programmes. For IISER Pune admission to the BS-MS dual degree course, candidates should apply through IISER Aptitude Test (IAT). In previous years, there were three channels of admission: Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) channel; Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Advanced); and the State and Central Boards Channel. From this year, candidates will be admitted only through the State and Central Boards Channel wherein they would need to write an IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) for IISER UG admission. For IISER Pune MSc admission, candidates must pass IIT- JAM.

Candidates should take the appropriate entrance examination before applying for the IISER Pune admissions to the desired course. To get IISER Pune admissions to PhD course, candidates must meet the eligibility criteria, take a national-level eligibility test and qualify for the interview. For integrated PhD (i-Ph.D), candidates must qualify for JGEEBILS/ JAM/ JEST/NBHM followed by rounds of interviews. The admission process for IISER Pune is discussed below.

Visit the IISER admissions 2024 website: iiseradmission.in.
On the homepage, go to the ‘Apply for IAT-2024”.
On the next page, register to receive User ID and password.
After successful registration, complete the application form by uploading the necessary documents and making the appropriate payment.

IISER Pune BS-MS Course Admission 2024

Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Pune offers admission to BS-MS programme. Admission to BS-MS programme at IISER Pune is coordinated through a pan-IISER Joint Admissions Committee for all IISERs across India. Candidates who have passed the 10+2 exam with the science stream are eligible to apply for IISER Pune BS-MS admission. Tabulated below are the IISER Pune UG eligibility criteria.

Candidates who have passed the Class 12th or equivalent examination in the science stream in 2022, 2023, or 2024, with a minimum of 60% marks (general candidates), are eligible to apply for IAT.

From this year (2024 onwards), candidates will be admitted only through the State and Central Boards Channel wherein they would need to write an IISER Aptitude Test (IAT).

For candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Person with Disability (PwD) categories, the minimum score requirement is 55% to apply for IAT.

IISER Pune BS-MS Admission Process 2024

First, candidates will have to meet the IISER Pune BS-MS eligibility criteria.
Complete the application by uploading the necessary documents and making the appropriate payment.
Admission to the IISER Pune BS-MS programme is coordinated through a pan-IISER Joint Admissions Committee for all IISERs across India.
Appear for the IISER Aptitude Test conducted by Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research.
Then, the authorities will release the IISER Aptitude Test cutoff on the official website.
Candidates qualifying the entrance test will have to participate in the IISER counselling.
Final admission is confirmed after verification of documents and IISER Pune fee payment.

Note: In the previous years, there were three channels of admission (Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) channel; Joint Entrance Examination (JEE-Advanced); and State and Central Boards Channel). IISER Pune MSc Course Admission 2024

Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Pune offers admission to MSc programmes. The MSc programme at IISER Pune is currently offered in the departments of Chemistry, Mathematics, and Earth and Climate Sciences. Candidates can check the IISER Pune PG eligibility criteria mentioned in the below table.

Qualified JAM and the JAM rank must be valid at the time of admission.

Candidates in the final year of their bachelor’s degree are also eligible to apply for admission at IISER.

IISER Pune MSc Admission Process 2024

For admission to MSc programme, candidates will have to fulfill the IISER Pune MSc Puneeligibility criteria.
Appear and secure a valid score in the Joint Admission Test for M.Sc Programmes (JAM).
Candidates in the final year of their Bachelor’s degree are also eligible to apply.
Then, candidates are required to fill and submit the online application form.
For IISER Pune MSc admission, candidates will be shortlisted based on JAM rank. However, the rank/score must be valid at the time of admission.
Candidates who are qualified in the JAM will be eligible for the IIT JAM counselling.
Seats are allotted after verification of documents and IISER Pune admission fee payment.

IISER Pune PhD Course Admission 2024

The PhD courses at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Pune are offered in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Earth and Climate Science, Biology and others.

IISER Pune PhD Admission Process 2024

Candidates seeking admission to PhD programme will have to meet the IISER Pune PhD eligibility criteria.
Register online at the application portal of IISER Pune for the PhD programme.
For IISER Pune PhD admission, candidates must qualify a National Eligibility exam that provides a 5-year PhD fellowship such as CSIR–JRF/ UGC–JRF/ DBT–JRF–A/ ICMR–JRF/ DBT–BINC–JRF/ Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship/ Maulana Azad National Fellowship / National Fellowship for Scheduled Caste Students by CSIR-UGC / National Fellowship for Higher Education of ST Students / National Fellowship for OBC Candidates / National Fellowship for persons with disabilities (NFPWD).
Candidates should have qualified JEST or GPAT or NBHM in the last two years. INSPIRE-PhD fellowship (should be in possession of provisional selection letter at the time of Interview).
However, BS-MS/Masters students from any of the Institutes of National Importance with a CGPA 8 or above on a 10-point scale are exempted from national-level test eligibility-related criteria.
Qualified GATE exams (GATE Life Sciences, GATE Chemistry, GATE Eco-Evo, GATE Biotechnology, GATE Mathematics) or qualified JGEBILS (IISER Pune will shortlist based on the ranks of the students).
Candidates are shortlisted based on meeting the above criteria and then shortlisted candidates are required to appear for the interview.
Final admission is offered after the successful completion of document verification and fee payment.

IISER Pune Integrated PhD (i-PhD) Admission Process 2024

Students who are interested in being admitted to the Integrated PhD course at IISER Pune must meet the IISER Pune i-PhD eligibility criteria.
Eligible candidates must fill out and submit the online application form on or before the specified date.
Candidates who are appearing or about to appear for final exams of the qualifying degree programme are eligible to apply for the Integrated PhD programme.
Shortlisting will be made based on the marks obtained by the students in the Joint Graduate Entrance Examination for Biology and Interdisciplinary Life Sciences (JGEEBILS)/ JAM / NBHM/ JEST.
Candidates who have applied for admission or want to apply must note that filling out and submitting the application form does not guarantee that he/she will get shortlisted for interviews. It is upon the respective decision of departments. They can use additional criteria such as academic performance, and ranking at the national level of examinations such as JGEEBILS/ JAM/ JEST/ NBHM or any others for screening of the candidates.
Shortlisted candidates who clear the entrance exam will be called for an interview.
Shortlisted candidates will be intimated about the interview via email only and students must check the official website for periodic updates.
The final selection for the programme will be based on the candidate's performance in the interview.
Admission is confirmed after verification of documents and IISER Pune fee payment.

Code 1 is applicable to those candidates who are in class xii , appearing for board exams .

Code 2 is for those candidates who are from nios / CBSE or ICSE board . Droppers must also apply code 2.

Code 3 - Those who have passed class xii board from any recognized university university with physics, chemistry and biology.

Code 4 - Those whk have given pre medical or pre professional Examination.

Code 5 - Those who have passed first year bsc .

I am scoring 123 in IISER Aptitude test 2022 as per the final answer key. Will I get IISER Pune?

Hello,

According to historical tendencies, you should.

This year, it will depend on how well students perform generally and the extent to which the increase in seats has an impact (this year, 75 percent of seats shall be filled via the SCB channel). That will ultimately determine which IISER you receive.

But in my opinion, with a score of 124, you should surely get admitted to IISER Pune.
