Jawaharlal Nehru National College of Engineering, Shimoga which is also known as JNNCE Shimoga was established in the year 1980 by the National Education Society (NES). The courses offered by Jawaharlal Nehru National College of Engineering, Shimoga are at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels in a total of 28 specialisation programmes in BE, M.Tech, MBA, MCA, M.Sc, and Ph.D degree courses.
The admissions are done on the basis of entrance exams followed by a round of counselling at Jawaharlal Nehru National College of Engineering, Shimoga. JNNCE offers many scholarships to the financially disadvantaged students. JNNCE scholarships are BCM Category Students Scholarship, SC/ST Minority Scholarship, Vidyasiri (epass- fee concession), SC/ST Lower Income, SC/ST Higher Income, Minority Scholarship, Central Sector Scheme, etc. There are some eligibility criteria students have to meet in order to avail the scholarships. JNNCE Shimoga admissions to the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses are done through entrance exams. Jawaharlal Nehru National College of Engineering Shimoga admissions are granted to the candidates who meet the eligibility criteria for a particular course. For JNNCE admissions the entrance exams accepted by the institute are COMEDK UGET, KCET for UG B.Tech courses.

My college has best infrastructure in the town. new library and step block building, and new building for artificial intelligence and machine learning , and has best laboratories and libraries and sports centres, and hostel, wifi , smart boards and everything is well maintained.
We have department Library with our college library. Librarary is well-equipped with useful resources Books can be recommended by students and bought. Labs are well established. We have labs that are well maintained and disciplined. There are total of 5 labs for different subjects. Classrooms are digitalized. We have digital boards installed in every classroom and seminar hall. They have a lot of space. The hostel is clean and hygienic. The mess food is of good taste.
College looks very beautiful from outside with lots of greenary. The library is huge with not enough quality study materials. Old buildings for mechanical, civil and electrical branch. Library equipments are outdated. Hostel food is not really good.
