Sports and fitness activities are an integral component of JGU. Under the supervision of qualified coaches and instructors, the students indulge in practice sessions in order to fulfill their aspirations of wearing university colors/jerseys. JGU has a fullfledged Department of Physical Education which provides unmatched and state-of-the-art facilities in Cricket, Basketball, Football, Badminton (Indoor), Volleyball, Table Tennis, Pool/Snooker, Chess and Carrom and Swimming. Special Sessions of Yoga, Dance and Aerobics are also organized for students and staff members. Special emphasis is laid on improving not only the health component and lifestyle but also to instill the qualities of team cohesion and sportsman-spirit.
The university has a state-of-the-art gymnasium with global standards and internationally recognised trainer. The gymnasium has been divided into various sections like cardio, strength and stretching areas. The un-paralleled and international quality of equipment consists of treadmills, cross trainers, spinners, strength stations etc. There is a dedicated area for floor and stretching exercises.
In addition to the main gymnasium, JGU has set up mini gymnasiums in hostels as well. Yoga sessions are organized by trainers for the students in the morning and evening. Aerobics sessions are also organized and being a very important cardiovascular exercise, these sessions draw a large number of students who get training in low impact and high impact aerobic exercises.
The University Hall of Residence for students consists of several blocks of building designed by a French architect. There are corridors, open spaces and common rooms within each block. There are separate blocks for male and female students. The accommodation for students in these blocks follows international norms and the rooms are aesthetically furnished. Hygiene is an important consideration in these Halls.
In addition, the campus provides recreational facilities including a gymnasium and other indoor and outdoor games. The surroundings are fully landscaped with lawns, bushes and trees.

World class Food Court – “Biswamil Bistro” reflecting the global aspirations and Indian traditions. Outlets at this food court of JGU provide multi cuisine options through brands such as Subway, Burger Point, 34 Chowringhee Lane, Street Food by Punjab Grill, Bercos, Moti Mahal, Domino’s Pizza, Breakfast Round the Clock {BRC} & Keventers. A wide range of Vegetarian and Non-vegetarian food options are thus available for the benefit of the Students, Faculty, Staff and Guests/Visitors of JGU.
The university has a permanent health centre with all essential equipment and round the clock assistance available for students. The 3500 sq. ft. Health Centre has separate male and female wards, consultation rooms, physiotherapy treatment rooms, counselling rooms, meditation room and sample collection room. It has a strong team of qualified medical practitioners including four doctors, eight nursing staff, two physiotherapists, two student counsellors to provide all the necessary health care services. Specialist doctors who are specialize in ENT, Gynecology, Orthopedics etc. visit the health centre once a month to provide specialized consultation services at the Campus. A full-time medical residential medical officer and nurses are on duty 24×7. The on-campus pharmacy near the Health Centre is open all days.
The Global Library aims to play a proactive and important role in the teaching learning process. It occupies about 10000 square feet of area in T-2 Block of Academic Building.
The Library has a collection of about 48000 print volumes and an array of electronic resources. The print collection includes books, monographs, research reports, law reports, and back volumes of periodicals etc. In addition to the professional reading the library provides a good amount of leisure reading and books for soft skills development. All subjects related to the University’s academic and research programmes have been included in the collection. Print resources of the Library have been divided into General Collection, and Reference Collection.
The student’s common rooms are located in different blocks of the University Halls of Residence. There are indoor sports facilities such as Snooker table, Pool table, Foosball table, Table Tennis table and many other board games. The common rooms are equipped with large state-of-the-art projection screens for playing movies, television shows, presentations, music, etc. There are provisions for arranging small birthday parties with the prior approval of the Warden. The common rooms are manned by one attendant round-the-clock for any assistance needed. The rules and regulations of the common room are filed in a document that is available with the attendant and needs to be adhered to while students are present in the common room.
The University has guest house facility at Tulip Grand Residential complex, close proximity to the University. Total 21 Nos. of Executive rooms can be availed by the parents and guests subject to their availability. These facilities can be booked at the rate of INR 2,000 per day (Inclusive of Breakfast).
HDFC Bank has set up an ATM machine on campus which is situated on ground floor, T2 – underneath Admissions Office. YES Bank has also set up an ATM machine on campus near student housing complex.
Additional transactions can be routed through the Bank personnel deployed by the Bank who routinely visit the campus to collect orders and submit deliveries, if any.
