General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) is a three-year six-month full-time diploma program offered by Gujarat University, Ahmedabad.


First Year G.N.M. Nursing: Anatomy & Physiology, Microbiology, Psychology, Sociology, Fundamentals of Nursing, First Aid, Community Health Nursing, Environmental Hygiene, Health Education& Communication Skills, Nutrition, English Co-Curricular activities 

Second Year G.N.M. Nursing: Medical Surgical Nursing-I, Medical Surgical Nursing-II, Child Health Nursing-I, Mental Health Nursing, Co-Curricular Activities. 

Third Year B.Sc. Nursing: Midwifery & Obstetrical Nursing, Community Health Nursing-II, Co-Curricular activities


Eligibility Criteria

The minimum age for admission will be 17 years. (as of 31st December of that year) The upper age limit is 35 yrs. ? 10+2 with English and must have obtained a minimum of 40% for open/OBC and 35% for SC/ST Candidates and at the qualifying examination and English individually for any recognized board.
